Goes to show you how excessively heavy a lot of these hws are, not as lean as when a cruiser but even at 230 gass looks trimmer than most hws around that weight
i remember ishida fighting as a hw and not even looking very out of shape

Jab, left hook, right hand in the middle of the first round, the right hand sent Seferi down hard. He stood up, but he was stunned.

Rytt.. so Gassiev needs to sort out his promotions and get into this Hw mix.. fight a real Hw next..

Right. Hopefully he does it and wastes no more prime time. He can become an interesting player in the division.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑31 Oct 2020, 17:19 Rytt.. so Gassiev needs to sort out his promotions and get into this Hw mix.. fight a real Hw next..

Gassiev should have never been allowed to engage in such an horrendously bad mismatch.
And it’s not as if nobody from this forum didn’t predict the outcome.

Nuri Seferi was a cruiserweight that decided to eat far too many pies.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑31 Oct 2020, 17:14 Goes to show you how excessively heavy a lot of these hws are, not as lean as when a cruiser but even at 230 gass looks trimmer than most hws around that weight

Man, boxing fans are vicious.
I used to cover the Eastern HW scene for two boxing websites back in the day. I've seen Seferi fight probably a dozen times, same with his brother. He always brought it, a very tough guy who obviously lacked the skill to win almost any of his bigger fights, but he always came to fight. He fought some really good CW's from two different generations. He made his pro debut when Gassiev was 5 years old. I'm not suggesting he was a good first HW foe for Gassiev, but he's deserving of much more than a "fast food fan" or someone who "decided to eat too many pies". He's a 43 year old tough journeyman at the ends of his career.
The fact that Gassiev beat him so quickly and easily is still impressive, even at this point, to anyone even remotely familiar with Seferi.

Any news on Gassiev, has fought about 30 seconds since his defeat to usyk. I really though he was going to be a super fun to the heavyweights, but its been very uneventfull.
Re: Murat Gassiev vs. Nuri Seferi - October 31, 2020
His team plans to place him to the event on July 22 in Moscow, but right now neither an event is confirmed, nor an opponent is chosen. If it happens, he'll hardly face anyone decent.gregregegg wrote: ↑24 Jun 2021, 06:59 Any news on Gassiev, has fought about 30 seconds since his defeat to usyk. Re: Murat Gassiev vs. Nuri Seferi - October 31, 2020
I haven't seen any details on that, but something tells me it will be a-known-local-guy-vs-a-bum type of an event.
