Can definetly see Woods winning this one, just read on teletext too that Hobson has offered Calzaghe 1.5mill to fight Woods, after Johnson.

that's interesting, isn't that more than he got for the Lacy fight, I seem to recall he took a pay cut for that one?

Is Hobson trying to tempt Joe away? I doubt it would work, Joe has shown no desire whatsoever to leave Warren, and is very near the end of his career.

Warren also used that slogan for the Docherty-Arthur fight, after Matchroom tried to move the T.V date. They ended up losing the fight completely after the second round of purse bids.

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong but I think Calzaghe got £1,000,000 for his fight with Lacy .

Don't be silly, why would he do that? He's going to ask poor old Dennis Hobson if he would like to give all his Boxers a job on the card to compensate them for the lack of shows they curently have and the lack of TV to-boot. Fancy assuming that SN Boxers would fight on an SN show, silly boy!!!

Let's see a date, venue, contract and whether he actually has the money and a TV date to back up his offer. I bet Clinton is wondering why he only get's £100k per fight if they can offer JC 15 times more! Another bullitt in the old Hobson foot. He knows his offer is not going to be taken seriously after he failed to land Clinton's fight for a measly $50k and is desparate to hold onto 'itchy feet''Hatton as well cos he can't pay him. Fatten up the Calf someone!!!

That could be very intriguing. I'm not sure how long Hatton's deal is with FA but if Warren won bids and did a good promotion at the M.E.N, then Hatton might start to think about the good times he had with Frank.

Realy glad this one has been made woods seems like a nice bloke and it will be good to see him back on terrestrial television (particularly now Iv moved back home from uni and don't have sky any more.

Money talks, Despite the huge problems I'm sure Warren knows the figues Hatton can produce at the M.E.N. So its not like he will be out of pocket and it would really turn in the screw.

Might depend on how many will fork out to watch Hatton destroy a washed up Urkal though. If millions watched it on ITV, Hatton could make enough from the Advertisement revenue Itv put in our faces and from an average purse as this ain't a big fight really though couldn't he?

And the fact that he can sell out the MEN if he's allowed to fight there.

Hatton on Sky Box Office and in the US on HBO is worth more than a fight on ITV. Warren does not have a linkup with HBO for a start, and they've signed Hatton to a deal have they not?

It prob wont go to purse bids anyway.

I don't think the figures from advertising revenue stack up against a successful PPV. The revenue goes to ITV anyhow, not the promoter, they would guarantee extension of contract however if the figures are consistently high, but I doubt ITV would be giving a cut of their advertising revenue away.
