Whilst I can see why some have gone for the likes of Howard Eastman, Ricardo Mayorga etc - who yes both seemed very lazy - I think too make the weight meant they had to train pretty hard. Eastman especially was a big man for a Middleweight.

I don't know about Broner. He has failed to make weight a few times, but in the ring he never looked that soft, and went the 12 round distance, which takes some really decent fitness, even if your work rate is low

I’d watch him against Joshua again, tbh. As long as he keeps the weight off it’s the best fight out there for Joshua after Usyk (I’m assuming the Fury fight will never happen).

John Ruiz. After being KO'ed in the first round by David Tua, instead of focusing how to improve on fight on the inside, he rather chose to learn how to tie up and hug and hold his opposition that was better than him. Ruiz ushered in an era plagued with hugging and holding in the heavyweight division. It filtered thru other top heavyweights, like Wladimir Klitchsko and Lennox Lewis.

John Ruiz was lazy. He had good talent, but chose to take the easy road, instead of learning how to actually "fight" better.

John Ruiz wasn't lazy, he was just a sh!tty boxer, who was finding a salvation in an excessive holding, which was against the boxing rules, by the way. He could have been easily deducted points and/or DQed on numerous occasions, but he wasn't because of the corrupt influence of Don King. For the same reason Ruiz was getting some help from the judges. He definitely wasn't worthy of a World championship, so it's fair to call him an over-achiever.
