Its a common theme, , guy boxes on backfoot for first few rounds, quite boring, just popping out jab, nothing meaningful, he's nicking rounds, other guy pressing but cant get off or land, commentary, fans and judges all in agreement, the guy pot shotting on backfoot is ahead
Then the middle rounds, exact same pattern, dire fight, one guy doing all pressing but cant land a meaningful shot and the other guy using jabs and constantly on his toes, at some point that backfoot boxing becomes running then he starts dropping rounds even though he's barely taking a shot still and the other guy starts getting the benefit in the scoring because at least he's the one trying to make a fight of it, surely if winning round 1 with they tactics its good enough to win every other round however frustrating to watch
I watched Mike Weaver vs James Tills the other day, dreadful fight but a similar situation, Tillis fought 15 rounds on the backfoot, lost a 15 UD, commentary gave him first few rounds, things stayed pretty much same all fight but Weaver eventually started to get the props, Parker/Hughie another one

Mayweather/Canelo another maybe? I had it closer than most because Floyd went from winning rounds pot-shotting to losing rounds by not doing enough.
