Marco Antonio Barrera: Best win?

Post by Ruthless-RKO »

Carrying on with my 'Best Win Series'..

Image

He had recorded 67 wins, with 44 KO's!

Record:

Had a record of 22-4 (12 KOs) in World Title fights.
Had a record of 18-7 (10 KOs) against former or current world titlists.

Which was his best and/or defining win?

What was his best KO win?

Some names that he has fought include:

Carlos Salazar
Kennedy McKinney
Paul Lloyd
Pastor Humberto Maurin
Naseem Hamed
Erik Morales
Johnny Tapia
Kevin Kelley
Mzonke Fana
Robbie Peden
Rocky Juarez

--------------------
Another question..

Regardless of win/loss.. Who was his best opponent?

From the list above, this would include the likes of:

Junior Jones
Manny Pacquiao
Juan Manuel Marquez
Amir Khan

Which was his best and/or defining win?

Morales III. It could have easily been the 1st bout, if Barrera wasn't robbed there.

What was his best KO win?

McKinney.

Regardless of win/loss.. Who was his best opponent?

Pacquiao clearly.

Defining win: Hamed. The trilogy with Morales was awesome, but the way he outclassed the undefeated Hamed and destroyed the mystique and aura around him was superb.

Best opponent is clearly Pac.

His best win is either Morales or Hamed. Hamed was his most dominant big name win. With Morales his best performance was actually in the 1st fight where he got screwed over.

His best opponent was Pacquiao.

Best KO win...Yeah I'd have to say McKinney.

His greatest rival will always be Morales... They hated each other... But for me, his best win was Prince Naz. What Marco did to him really was quite amazing...

Morales is clearly the best fighter he beat and I think he also deserved the win in fight I BUT Hamed may have been his greatest win. I think that did the most for his career.

Pacquaio his best opponent, then Marquez.

I thought Morales deserved the win in their 2nd fight, and Barrera deserved the win in their 1st fight. Ultimately it all worked out fair I guess, but the wrong guy got their hand raised for each bout.

barrera deserved to win the series 2-1, agree on the first 2 fights having reversed results though

I agree. The first two fights were scored wrong but evened out. The third fight was clear-cut and decided it.

I scored the 3rd fight a draw, but I never took issue with Barrera getting the decision.
