Who Tank best win

Post by world ranked »

Just spoke one who had a very strong take on this. I wonder if others feel the same.

Who's Tank's best win, or Who is Tank's best win.

Well you got in before me. No offence OP, but Boxrec seems to be a UK dominated forum, and "who tank best win" as a title to a thread is bound to be followed by a lot of rolled eyes. You might get away with that appalling English in the US, but we're mostly limeys here, boys: if you want us to join in you're going to have to meet us half way. If you talk like that over here people are going to think you're not the full shilling.

It terms of a status and skills it's Santa Cruz. But it was in fact the fight against a guy from the lower cathegory. Pedraza is a good win, which has increased in value more with time. Apart from these two, it's nothing to chose. Maybe Barrios will became like the Pedraza case in the future, but now it doesn't look valuable.

i still like the pedraza win the most, took a big step up at the time to absolutely batter and stop a solid champ who is still having success today, having won a belt at 135 and getting good wins at 140. no other opponent battered ped like that even moving up in weight. it's not like he had already been brutally ko'd before and after, or was shot afterwards

leo obviously was a great ko, but i think leo had stagnated a lot and was already beyond his best weight and peak, and i had him up 3-2 over tank when ko happened

barrios a good win, but i did think barrios won 4-5 rounds, so not nearly as dominant from tank. he looked umcomfortable and confused until round 5. moving up to 140 adds a plus, but overall not his best performance for me

but tbh, as much as i rate tank, for a guy who seems to have p4p #1 potential, these wins are still falling short of what i think he's capable of

i want to see him in with an elite opponent, stop the weight jumping cherrying

unfortuently, floyd and ellerbee say 'pbc opponents only'.....which cuts out the top oppponents all the way from 130-140

Santa Cruz is his most accomplished opponent that he defeated. Barrios probably represented the biggest challenge due to size, height, and power and all that.

leo hadnt done jack sheet at 130 though. for me leo is a fighter who was continually matched vs smaller opponents from 118 up. then he finally moves up to a weight where guys are his size, he gets a cherry picked secondary belt vs a nobody, then fights tank

i think ped> leo at 130

Pedrosa is the best win although i think he is better at 135+ than he was at 130. Leo is the best name, but he is tiny so not the best win. Barros hasnt done much but was a big boy so fair play.

Desperately needs a top guy in there correct weight.

Pedraza, based on his decent showing against Lomachenko and some other wins. It is about how Davis defeat him. He just slaughtered that guy.

Davis and Lomachenko displayed pound for pound form in separate bouts, on the same day. Almost seems like a missed opportunity.
