Basically, but she'll be a hell of a lot better than Maya Jama though as she actually works in sport and is a pretty good presenter by all accounts. Doesn't take a brain surgeon to work out that appointment however.

Probably because he personal insults about 11 people per day on Twitter. And he does it like an 11-year old lad.

Dont mind the birds getting the gig, i don't pay much attention to presenters, they pretty much read everything off an autocue, Bellew's meh and gutted Barry Jones never got the gig, everyone else no complaints

A really good line up I think (although not a big fan of Bellew).

Andy Lee is a class analyst.
Mike Costello is, outside of Ian Darke, the best play by play guy in British boxing.
Darren Barker is pretty good and I enjoy his double act with Chris Lloyd.
Chris Lloyd is a natural presenter and could end up being the best in the U.K. in a few years.
Laura Woods - really good.
Maya Jama - left field choice and not sure how she’ll be used (what will she do and what will Laura do?) but she’s a good presenter in her own right and has a good following (a few million I’d assume on Instagram) to try and push DAZN to.
Tony Bellew - I liked him as a fighter but he’s too biased in his analysis. Let’s see whether he can dial it down but I remain to be convinced.

Maverick : agree with that Lee and Lloyd are the future ! Both really good.

Jama for her social media following , in an attempt to plug the gap that sky news / soccer AM filled

Bellew freely admits to bias when commentating on his mates so he's not cut out out for the job, need people so say it how it is, no way Bellew can stay professional for the Galahad/Dickens rematch,

I'm a bit 50/50 with these appointments. Some are clearly very good, others not so. Costello is the big thumbs up from me.

However, the proof is in the pudding, let's see how they all work out. Although there's still plenty in that line up to slag off, which we all love doing!

Mike Costello named new DAZN UK lead commentator; Lee, Bellew added

Mike Costello has been named as the new lead commentator for Matchroom’s boxing content on DAZN in the UK.

The much sought after and highly-respected former BBC man was at the top of Eddie Hearn’s shopping list after a stellar career working in radio, on TV, recording podcasts and writing for the BBC. His multi-platform experience would have been a major asset, but so is his experience, having covered more than a decade of high-profile fights and also having been the BBC’s point man for athletics, doing live commentary on several Olympic Games (including boxing), having covered all manner of events, from marathons to the prestigious 100m finals.

DAZN also announced that former world cruiserweight champion Tony Bellew will be part of the new UK team, former WBO middleweight titleholder Andy Lee and presenters Maya Jama and Laura Woods, along with former IBF middleweight champion Darren Barker who has been working on pre and post Matchroom shows with Chris Lloyd, who has also retained his position in that partnership in the DAZN line-up.

DAZN had been using former Sky Sports boxing commentator Nick Halling and Scotland’s former junior lightweight champion Alex Arthur.

Costello and Lee make a good "A-Team". The rest are average.
