I mean, it's a dumb thing that, unless I missed something, was brought into the conversation by you. Doesn't really work for you to try to make somebody else look bad with it now.H8Usernames wrote: ↑28 Jun 2021, 00:08 Eh. You are very passionate about this whole nonsense. Answer is: who cares? Another good question is did he need an advantage? Anwswer to that one is probably: no.

I'm sure they exist in boxing just like everywhere else but more so or less so, who can say? Many people are racist but I'd like to believe that most are not. That appilies to anyone white, black, brown or yellow.

Well, there are some examples of racism like the BLM supremacist organization but generally that's it and institutional racism is also very, very rare in today's world - which is good and I'm happy about that.

If Wilder fanboys were saying "Fury heeled Wilder" I'd say yeah, I think you're right. They're not. They're saying he loosened his glove so he could punch with the knuckles on his fingers and break his hands on purpose" and that's beyond stupid. Just hitting somebody with your knuckles in a glove is far more damaging.
The heeling thing I can totally go with, BECAUSE THAT'S WHAT I DO. So I can see he beat up Wilder with a combination of heels, closed hand punches and slaps. SLAPS. grow up and deal with it. The other theories are beyond stupid.

Probably a bit too much. I never experimented with inserting my hand the wrong way into the glove for sparring though. I did however try it on my heavybag and it looks to me like we are talking about something that theoretically could give a fighter an unfair advantage. Also the videos clearly demonstrated that pulling the gloves down was taking place and that the gloves weren't correctly placed on Fury's hands. Why someone can't accept that is something that I don't understand. I do think that Wilder is getting koed again even without Fury cheating so I really don't think that any of this matters or mattered so much but the truth is however the truth isn't it?Cyclops wrote: ↑29 Jun 2021, 06:28I'm passionate about the sport. The BBC website defines the term “racism” accordingly:
“Racism is when someone is discriminated against(singled out) because of their race, the colour of their skin, their nationality, their accent or first language, or their ethnic or national origin. Racism is a hate crime, and is illegal.”
An example of a forum poster that applies double-standards, depending on whether the fighter in question is British or not!

You obviously failed to include the Mea Culpa that I had made after those tirades. Quite honestly, I think that it was me who is responsible for the British resurgence in Boxing. Because soon after my posts, Brits hit the gym and started to make things happen. DAZN was created as a result soon after the boys hit the gym. They all agreed with me and I’m not sorry about it. Do I deserve ALL of the credit for DAZN’s success and Brits acquiring belts in that span? Absolutely and I’m glad that you brought it up.
Lastly, after multiple trips to Ireland since my comments, I am now a resident of Ireland for a portion of the year and love the Irish so much it’s silly. People can be wrong buddy. That’s something that you NEVER EVER could find a way to consider. It’s also the most likely reason that you struggle finding someone to love or some mates that you could call if you pop your Mom’s tire after borrowing it for a run to the store for chips. I don’t hate ya. I’m just trying to help ya. Humility is an attractive quality. Cutting and pasting your days through life is no way to fill your heart. Unplug for spells during the day and practice saying sorry.
Oh and btw, you Filthy Brits should be a little more appreciative to us Americans. If it weren’t for us, you’d be speaking German.

Racial double standards do exist.
Mayweather goes the distance with an opponent who has been stopped multiple times: Mayweather is a great fighter
Klitschko stops an opponent in a late round who has never been stopped before: Klitschko not exciting, carries his opponents
Collins beats Eubank twice, but no credit given, Eubank is old in his 20s
Eubank beats Benn, Eubank is a great fighter
Andre Ward does not have to leave his country during the Super Six
Kessler, Abraham and Froch need to fight outside their home countries

The only racism I see in boxing comes from black fighters and black fans. Bernard "I'll never lose to a white guy" Hopkins was the first to spring to mind.

Institutional racism is rare, especially when compared to the previous eras. Of course, there are examples like racial quota on universities in some countries or even recent examples of racist states like Zimbabwe under Mugabe but yeah, racism is relatively uncommon these days, isn't it? Today, all races have the same rights in almost every place in the world.

Re: do racial double standards exist in boxing
The world is riddled with double standards, racial or otherwise. Largely depends on individuals or what is deemed acceptable at the time - a good example is B Hops “I ain’t gonna be beaten by a white boy”, if the boot was on the other foot and Calzaghe said the same about a black man he would have (quite rightly) been torn a new arsehole. Cant see that changing any time soon. The added ingrediant with sport is the way that people often accept things that fit their perspective and don’t challenge lazy stereotypes
Re: do racial double standards exist in boxing
Yes .. prime example was Klitchko brother, as mike Tyson said they are great but they are not americans
Re: do racial double standards exist in boxing
I'm not aware of that quote but the Klitschkos definitely presided over a period which saw the decline of boxing in the US from a major sport on the slide, but one that was regarded as having America at it's heart, to one that is just a relic of the past for most Americans and barely relevant these days.
It could be argued they accelerated a process that was already under way but would the decline have been so dramatic if a new Mike Tyson or even a Riddick Bowe managed to dethrone them? If they were instrumental in putting the last nails in the coffin of boxing as a major mainstream sport in the US, then to what extent was that due to them being perceived as stylistically boring, to what extent due to their dominance, to what extent that they were never going to fight each other, and to what extent the fact they were not American?
Genuine question because I don't profess to know how Americans think about such matters.
