Heavyweights : Tyson Fury vs. Ike Ibeabuchi
12 rounds,who wins?
Re: Heavyweights : Tyson Fury vs. Ike Ibeabuchi
Fury in an easy decision.
Re: Heavyweights : Tyson Fury vs. Ike Ibeabuchi
Fury would outclass Ike.
Re: Heavyweights : Tyson Fury vs. Ike Ibeabuchi
Fury all day.
Ibeabuchi doesn't deserve the reputation he enjoys.

Re: Heavyweights : Tyson Fury vs. Ike Ibeabuchi
a blastout of byrd and outslugging of tua are pretty good wins tbf, taking both their 0s. thats not hypothetical, it actually happened and is better than the top pair of wins 95 percent of heavies ever get. he had power and for a slugger accuracy.--having no problems landing on slickster chris. could take a shot too and vs tua showed good stamina. you dont need to rate his career highly to pick him over guys who had deeper resumes, although id go fury in this case because of how they match up
his career ended because he was a psychotic nut case outside the ring, not because he was a headcase inside the ring or some lazy ass who couldnt be bothered getting in shape. in the ring he showed no problems like that
and what is the reputation he enjoys anyway? i never see anyone treating him like he ranks among great heavies or anything close, more that he was someone with very good potential who ppl realistically couldve seen as a champ and top heavy if he'd stayed active. that is fair
Re: Heavyweights : Tyson Fury vs. Ike Ibeabuchi
It was pretty close bout against Tua though.

Re: Heavyweights : Tyson Fury vs. Ike Ibeabuchi
it was close but he won legit at tua's own game and took his shots like nothing, vs a streaking prime tua. that along with wiping out bryd way quicker than anyone else are serious results....clearly he had some tools and on multiple occasions proved he could win vs top 10 type opposition. he isnt just some guy where you have to go to fantasy land to find him beating world level opponents
at a pretty high level he showed power, accuracy, chin, and toughness. i defo think he was better than a lot of guys that would contend and even go on to win titles in the 2000s

Re: Heavyweights : Tyson Fury vs. Ike Ibeabuchi
Yeah, he would be in the top 10. He could grab a belt from the likes of Ruiz and, again, Byrd, or from someone in the WBO roll. Yet I don't see him winning the likes of Lewis or Klitschkos, although he could upset the pre-Steward version of Wlad.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑04 Jul 2021, 02:20 it was close but he won legit at tua's own game and took his shots like nothing, vs a streaking prime tua. that along with wiping out bryd way quicker than anyone else easily tops the best pair of wins that most hws will ever get....clearly he had some tools and could win vs top 10 opposition

Re: Heavyweights : Tyson Fury vs. Ike Ibeabuchi
i agree lewis would've beaten him
sam peter though, who to me was an inferior version of ike, nearly beat wlad and gave him hell. defo i think ike would've beaten that version of wlad, and would always be a danger to any version of wlad

Re: Heavyweights : Tyson Fury vs. Ike Ibeabuchi
Well, Peter only scored knockdowns, apart from that Wlad was doing well. Yet Ike seemed more advanced as a boxer than Peter, so probably he would have more tools to take an advantage of catching Wlad. Although the full-loaded Wlad would dominate Ike the same way he was doing against everybody else.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑04 Jul 2021, 02:27 i agree lewis would've beaten him

I thought Tua beat him, and he was lucky to get that decision.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑04 Jul 2021, 00:57a blastout of byrd and outslugging of tua are pretty good wins tbf, taking both their 0s. thats not hypothetical, it actually happened and is better than the top pair of wins 95 percent of heavies ever get. he had power and for a slugger accuracy.--having no problems landing on slickster chris. could take a shot too and vs tua showed good stamina. you dont need to rate his career highly to pick him over guys who had deeper resumes, although id go fury in this case because of how they match up

Re: Heavyweights : Tyson Fury vs. Ike Ibeabuchi
lol no way bruh,i know you don't like ike but that was a clean win, not lucky at all
Re: Heavyweights : Tyson Fury vs. Ike Ibeabuchi
I have the fight. It's close and could go either way, but I have Tua winning it every time I watch it.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑04 Jul 2021, 03:55 lol no way bruh,i know you don't like ike but that was a clean win, not lucky at all
Re: Heavyweights : Tyson Fury vs. Ike Ibeabuchi
I had Tua in some previous rewatches, but I've just rewatched it again and, nah, I can't give it to David. Ibeabuchi was much more active and effective, Tua's success was sorta occasional, although he landed the biggest shots. Still it was close, 115-113 on my new card.gilgamesh wrote: ↑04 Jul 2021, 03:56I have the fight. That's why I give it to Tua. Ibeabuchi is busier, Tua lands heavier shots, and it's not like he's just standing around doing nothing. I don't remember a lot of real jarring shots Ibeabuchi lands. Tua lands some jaw rattlers.DrDuke wrote: ↑04 Jul 2021, 06:01I had Tua in some previous rewatches, but I've just rewatched it again and, nah, I can't give it to David. 115-113 either way or 114-114 is perfectly reasonable though.
It's a good fight. A bit overrated because as busy as it was there wasn't a lot of anybody getting hurt so it lacks some drama, but the pace is definitely very busy.
Re: Heavyweights : Tyson Fury vs. Ike Ibeabuchi
Yeah, it's overrated because of the number of thrown punches record. Today it's no longer a record because of Kownacki-Arreola, but that fight is less interesting than Ike-Tua, cause it didn't even feature the same heavy blows.gilgamesh wrote: ↑04 Jul 2021, 14:25That's why I give it to Tua. Ike Ibeabuchi was beaten by David Tua. And then David Tua twice was on the verge of losing to Hashim Rahman as well as David Izon. Ike was just hype really.
