.Heavyweights: Riddick Bowe( Golota II version) + other versions vs Prime Deontay Wilder

Post by H8Usernames »

As far as glory goes Riddick was ofcourse far more heavily hyped during his career than Deontay Wilder but as for substance, it's a question.

I remember best the Golota II fight and against that fighter Deontay would have been in some serious trouble, he would not have been able to keep him away and wouldn't have gotten any shots of for most of the fight. The freakish 1 punch ko power could have produced a ko 11 or a ko 12 win for Wilder or perhaps Bowe migth have been able to finish the fight earlier than that winning by ko himself. Wilder would never win this one by decision I think as for who would win it by Ko, it's hard to see Wilder surviving into the last rounds of the fight to land a big one.

i remember after wilder beat luis ortiz..............some dudes here were saying he'd destroy prime bowe within 4, and others also saying he'd ko prime holyfield, bowe, and louis

i wonder if they still believe that :maybe:

but as for golota bowe.....that is another story, wilder could win that

The Bowe of the 2nd Golota fight was already past his best, and I'd have to favor Wilder to win the fight. Not without his share of difficulties though.

i do think bowe doesnt get quite enough credit for the golota fights though, ppl act like golota was winning easily and just fouled out of a fight he was cruising to victory in. reality is that they were tough physical fights for golota where he got hurt too, and that's what triggered him. bowe on the other hand showed a lot of heart to keep going through a torrid affair and eventually get the w

they werent so different from the grant fight

Golota was beating his ass in the 1st fight. The 2nd fight was a lot more competitive. Probably one of the better fights I can think of that ends in DQ.

Bowe weathers the storm and stops Wilder around the 8th.

Golota was beating his ass in the 1st fight. The 2nd fight was a lot more competitive. Probably one of the better fights I can think of that ends in DQ.
In the second fight Bowe had the biggest success, while he also suffered the biggest battery. There were 10-8 worthy rounds without a KD. However, Golota seemed frustrated indeed. The last round before the DQ one could be given to Bowe. Golota was tired and he acknowledged, that Bowe could hurt him, while Bowe himself didn't look ready to go, despite the damage he had received. So, it's possible to understand, why Golota found the way out, but still that time it was so close to the end, Golota simply blew the victory.

Talking about Bowe's prime, it was very short. He was past it already after the first Holyfield bout. He started to appear out of shape instantly after that. The third Holyfield bout took the remains of him. Bowe went to the first Golota fight unmotivated and out of shape, but he was ready for the second one, drained and not underestimating the opponent, yet he wasn't able to succeed.

Prime Bowe and all his versions up to the one of the 3rd Holy bout would handle Wilder convincingly. The Golota versions are more likely to win too, Wilder just got a bit more chances there.

Bowe would out-box Wilder behind his jabs and knocks him out in the late rounds.

To some extent you have to take into consideration that Bowe was getting fouled repeatedly. Not Bowe's best performance, but the fouls were a factor. Bowe had a lot of heart. Wilder wasn't active enough to beat even this version of Bowe. More likely than not, he gets through this even though he wasn't at his best.
