Roberto Duran vs Pipino Cuevas

Post by AngryGoon38 »

At 147. What if Cuevas didn't face Hearns in August of 1980,"Which arguably ruined him forever",and Duran postponed rematching Leonard in November of 1980. Let's say this bout took place in October of 1980. And if Duran didn't let himself get Fat after The Brawl in Montreal epic victory over Leonard.

It would be "The Brawl in ....." whatever city this fight would have happened. Both of them in their primes in a serious slugfest. It would be much better than the fight they had when both were considered washed up in 1983 in Los Angeles.

Duran by TKO in 9th or 10th.

Duran would still win by KO, just later. He was a level above, even 12 pounds over his prime weight

I feel Cuevas could win this by stoppage late, like 13th round. No fear of Duran, and if he catches Roberto early, it would be enough to make Roberto pause, and not engage.
