Didn’t mean to get EO backing me up but he does come in pretty heavy with the facts.

GGG was 35 when he fought Canelo but widely considered the best or second best middleweight in the world, an extremely dangerous opponent, and a tough matchup for Canelo.

To say that Canelo intentionally timed the fight right after GGG had a tough match with Jacobs is quite cynical. He fought JCC in May for the big Cinco De Mayo payday. Just good business. JCC, while heavily criticized, was a very big opponent for Canelo, although completely outclassed. Canelo then immediately fought GGG. As stated above, the delay of one year after the Khan fight was not the fault of Canelo. If anything it put the fight into the public eye. Something GGG’s handlers failed to do.

I don't think charlo will move up unless it's for canelo.

I don’t recall this situation, until I saw a YouTube video last night, but apparently Jermall Charlo’s handlers rejected an offer from Golden Boy to face Canelo on the 4th May 2019.

Here’s what Oscar De La Hoya explained:

“We had an amazing, amazing offer for Charlo, a very lucrative offer for Charlo, and he turned it down,” De La Hoya told Fight Hub TV during an interview posted Tuesday [January 21st, 2020] to its YouTube page. “Well, Charlo didn’t turn it down, but his agent or whoever, whoever’s behind PBC, I don’t know.”

When asked how much money Golden Boy Promotions offered for Charlo to face Alvarez, De La Hoya replied, “I’m not gonna say the offer.”

Mexico’s Alvarez (53-1-2, 36 KOs) instead defeated Daniel Jacobs (36-3, 30 KOs) by unanimous decision in their 12-round middleweight championship unification match May 4 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Charlo (30-0, 22 KOs) beat Brandon Adams (21-3, 13 KOs), a huge underdog, by unanimous decision in their 12-rounder June 29 at NRG Arena in Charlo’s hometown of Houston.
