I hope he’s ok but re: Fury I just don’t think there’s any excuse a top fighter not to be fully vaccinated now - particularly after Bob’s comments about Teofimo.

Getting double jabbed clearly doesn’t eliminate the chances of Covid but significantly reduces it.

Exactly! Maybe they realised they fucked the promotion up? One press conference… can you even call it that? And in the UK this fight is non-existent.
Wouldn’t be surprised to see Bob Arum want this pulled because he wants it on Sky PPV…. In the last week or so Sky have been releasing news about this fight.

I've said all along its worrying. Wife and kids there, no Big Shane, Andy Lee, his right hand man bloke, s&c guy, nutritionist and haven't even seen Sugar Hill there for a bit. Plus, ge doesn't train in Miami.

The only thing the promoters came out with was that the fight was still on yesterday afternoon.

Tyson Fury vs. Deontay Wilder III ordered by Sept 15, what happens now?

The heavyweight pair look set to trade blows finally in October as unworkable Las Vegas dates in August and September got hampered further by fights involving Manny Pacquiao and Canelo Alvarez.

But what happens if the battle is delayed until October as arbitration ruled Fury vs. Wilder III must take place before September 15th.

Well, the likelihood is there will be concessions in the contract that deals with any postponement. In a nutshell, an unforeseen Covid outbreak will not break the agreement to the point where sanctions will hit Fury.

The World Boxing Council will also look favorable on Fury, and he will keep his title without trouble.

Fury is still yet to defend any world title he’s ever won after pulling out of two defenses against Wladimir Klitschko in 2016 after ripping the belts from the Ukrainian in November 2015.

Eventually, Klitschko was awarded his WBA “super” strap back and defended it in a massive unification against Anthony Joshua in 2017.

This time around, “The Gypsy King” was due to put the WBC championship he took from Wilder on the line. It will still be the case for any new date.

Wilder and his team are massively disappointed by the delay, though. Co-manager Shelly Finkel told WBN he believes Fury should have got his second dose of the vaccine – as “The Bronze Bomber” did.

“If Tyson Fury and his team did what they should have done and said they had done, this fight would be on and not off,” Finkel exclusively told World Boxing News.
“Deontay did what he was supposed to. He got his two Pfizer vaccines. So did the members of his team.

“He’s ready to go, and this is because Fury did not do what he was supposed to,” he added.

Fury vs. Wilder III has a blank canvas in October to choose from at present. Both sides will expect to get together shortly to thrash out the details of the rescheduling.

Think we could get alot of this as the world opens up and cases are high.

Without being too political (and actually I am very conservative with my views on whether we should be opening up etc) - I think the "learning to live with covid" (if governments think thats what should be done) should mean exactly that. I think it going to cripple events and the economy if we still have to isolate.

Cases are already up to January levels in the UK and this is in the summer now when the virus is supposed to be less transmissible / dangerous. If rules relax but number of testing requirements to attend events (either as a participant or a fan) is the same - then off course its going to mean more last minute cancellation if a positive test = definite isolation. The beauty of the "bubbled" boxing events of the last year is that because they were bubbled then highly unlikely there was going to be a case, so in the case on at least 90% of the cards there was no disruption - now though with the free for all, but still regular testing - it is going to change.

I was a big supporter of DLH growing up and seeing his car crash of the recent years hasn't been good. I actually thought he was going to do a "Ricky Hatton" style proper "stuff in the basement" type of comeback - and I actually fell a bit for the training videos I have seen - obviously I didn't think he was going to win a world title, but I actually thought he needed a proper fight for his own mind - like Ricky needed. At least Tyson and Mayweather haven't bullshitted about making a proper comeback or even having a proper fight - so when I heard it was another one of these celebrity exhibition stuff I was a bit pissed off and I do feel also the "man, this is potentially taking the slot of a proper fighter and a proper ppv".

Yep - agreed it’s a joke and not legitimate so I won’t be watching but it will probably still generate a fair bit of hype (although hopefully not as much as Oscar expects).

Fury and Wilder deserve all the hell that comes their way, a pair of piss taking bastards, l obviously wish Fury a full speedy recovery but i reckon all involved aren't too fussed, the promotion was a joke, no TV deal and ticket sales were abysmal, it was a great card tbf but still just shows you, with all this testing youve got to be extra careful
