What does the asterix mean in the boxrec boxer's records?
For instance; whenever you see Jesse Hart*, Oleksandr Usyk*, David Benavidez* or Errol Spence Jr* on anyone's record
there is always an asterix at the end of their names.

Thank you sir.
Re: Question about boxrec records...
I have a couple of questions. I know that boxers who are inactive for more than one year have an inactive status on BoxRec and therefore are not rated by BoxRec. However, the website WBAN, while still utilizing BoxRec for ratings, rated Elina Tissen the No. 3 featherweight in the world in March 2021 even though she had been inactive for two and a half years at the time. Is there any circumstance that a boxer would be rated by BoxRec with more than one year of inactivity such as having a fight scheduled or something else?
Also, is the owner of BoxRec John Sheppard going to make a statement regarding the recent allegations by WBAN regarding omissions of fights on boxers' records when fighting in the country of United Arab Emirates (UAE) and specifically in the city of Dubai? I know that there has been a reason to omit fights when fights are not sanctioned by legitimate boxing commissions. I understand that, but is that also a problem in UAE with their commission that regulates combat sports?

Regularly a boxer without a bout within the last year is set inactiv by the system. Due to COVID19 issues, that is temporarily extended to 18 months. A boxer is reset activ after his next bout.RScarf1 wrote: ↑12 Jul 2021, 04:08 I have a couple of questions. Thanks. I know you can't speak for John and WBAN stated that there are more upcoming articles about BoxRec, so maybe he's waiting until they finish their multi-part series of articles.computerrank wrote: ↑12 Jul 2021, 05:01Regularly a boxer without a bout within the last year is set inactiv by the system. Re: Question about boxrec records...
I wrote a couple of articles about her when I was writing for boxing websites, so that is why my posts were from about five years ago. Both of those articles which were posted 4-5 years ago were read by thousands of people, especially in Germany. I wanted to write about corruption in boxing that was not covered by the media in Germany and the lack of coverage is for obvious reasons. Their livelihoods depend on positive publicity for boxing in their country. There are articles about corruption worldwide in men's boxing, but not many for women's boxing. Since Tissen has made a comeback after a three year layoff, there is more to say and I thought about writing one more article about that and about boxing overall such as why MMA has surpassed boxing in popularity, but I think boxing websites would prefer to ignore the topic, especially if the website only covers boxing and not other combat sports. I have already offered to write one more article to a website, but they ignored my email. I think the future of boxing writing is going to be bleak. People who write about boxing are usually fans of boxing. Less fans means that there will be less writers. I'm already noticing more press releases written by writers who work for promoters or sanctioning bodies. Of course, those articles are going to have some bias if it is not just with factual information. If that is the future of boxing journalism, then you are likely to get more truth from a boxing forum. When I looked at the latest WBAN ratings and saw Elina Tissen's name at No. 3 featherweight after a layoff of two years which later became three years, I was surprised. I have my thoughts about it, but I can't share them. I don't have enough information.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑12 Jul 2021, 05:10 what is your issue with elina t, rscarf my bruh?
