Mike McCallum vs Carlos De Leon

Post by zuru »

15 rds Cruiserweight
McCallum is an all time favorite of mine. But I think he had trouble with movers and boxers sometime. And De Leon had a good size advantage here especially by being a natural Cruiserweight.

I think that maybe De Leon moves around jabbing, boxing as McCallum trails after him unable to put the necessary combinations together consistently to trouble him.

Sadly I think Mccallum loses a decision.
De Leon could be a good fighter when he was in shape and focused.

I was thinking the same thing too. McCallum fought at cruiserweight at the end of his career. DeLeon would be too good for the Bodysnatcher by jabbing, moving and landing great combinations on the outside without letting McCallum to give him up space to counterpunch nor body punching him on DeLeon, who would take a decision.

Yep.A De Leon was too big and mobile for Mccallum here.Even though he competed and won he was not his best.
