Report: Travis Fulton commits suicide after pleading guilty to child porn charges

According to the Cedar Rapids Gazette, heavyweight journeyman Travis Fulton is dead of an apparent suicide just hours after pleading guilty to child pornography charges in his home state of Iowa. Fulton's death is believed to have occurred by hanging in a jail cell, where he'd been since his arrest in February.

Age 44, Fulton's boxing record is listed as 25-48-2 with an additional loss in a bare knuckles contest. He also has competed in over 300 mixed martial arts fights.

Fulton's pro career stretched from 1999-2019 and included losses to Fres Oquendo, Jeremy Williams, Gerald Washington and Lou Savarese.

Sensitive topic. If a fullblown serial pedophile ends his life then congratulations are in order for his family since less shame falls on them. This guy had illegal child pornography in his possesion. Is that as bad? Could he have gone out and become a productive member of society. I honestly don't know, the rule applies however that for every person who gives service needs service so on that basis he wasn't indispensable.

Obviously our main concerns and sympathies are with the victims of paedophilia no question.

Having said that I don't know about anybody else but I'm just eternally grateful that I'm not remotely interested in children in that way. Paedophiles are despised and rightly so, but part of me thinks "You poor bastard, that must a terrible thing to be afflicted with".

There again we all have urges that need to be kept under control. Even if they are legal and far more socially acceptable they can still be extremely powerful and difficult to suppress. A lot of people wouldn't act out their fantasies in real life but use internet images to keep their desires in check. There is of course the indisputable fact that children were abused and exploited in the creation of those images, but presumably Fulton was purely a consumer rather than a creator of those images. To my mind there is still a hell of a difference between committing a sex crime against a child and watching images on the internet however disgusting we might find them.

Just my ramblings. I don't really know what my point is.

if one just as much as starts to collect pictures of child porn one is guilty of assisting in the production of that evil filth and should be punished severly which sadly is almost nowhere happening in appropriate measure.

if that shit turns you on and u feel incapable of 100% staying the yuck away from it, then fvcking get yourself some help.

anyone who's actively involved in the production of child pornography should be put away for life. period.
