So just going of Fan scoring on boxrec (not always great but lets roll with it)

-costano had 6 Clearrrr rounds, one pretty solid round and one close round.
-Charlo had 3 clear rounds and one pretty solid one.

That suggests basicaly anything from a Draw to costanso winning 117-111 is possible in a fair world, more suggests a costano win with a 115-113 or 116-112 type card. To get the 117-111 to charlo card you have to first give charlo every single closeish round, you then have to find 3 of costanos clear rounds and give them to charlo too.

Some fights are all close rounds and scores can within reason swing wildly. This wasnt so much, If boxing has any credibility it will get the 117-111 judge to explain how the fornicate he gave rounds everyone else had clear to costano to charlo..

I didn't see 6 clear rounds. Oddly the clearest RDS were the 2nd and 10th for charlo.

1,3, 4, , 7, 8, 9 ............all clear castano for me, dont really know how someone could score those for charlo. castano was bullying him , landing more, landing better. charlo was tentative and throwing a lot of pulled shots that were either falling short or hit gloves

biggest rounds were 10 for charlo and 3 for castano, when he hurt charlo

10 for charlo couldve been 10-8

Like I said, I only score definitive RDS and was drinking. Don't get me wrong, that card seemed shit, just not feeling the robbery.

A great fight, which had lacked the hype, but lived up to its status.

However, the decision was bad. Another pro-side-A judging. At least it was a dominant enough performance by Castano not to allow the judges to give him a loss.

Castano took the vast majority of rounds with an effective aggression. Charlo was air-jabbing almost all night long, glove-jabbing at best.

Charlo won the 2nd, the 10th and the 11th. It's possible to argue on the 12th, it was pretty close. The other rounds were clearly taken by Castano.

Jerma air jabbing..

Castano dominated the stats there..

Also, the scorecards.

The judge that just about had Castano Knick it scored r10 a 10-8 for Jermell and STILL has Castano winning.

cause castano won that. no 2 ways about it.

it's just sad.

and it isn't incompetence. it's corruption.

okay, castano gets the rematch, if he even gets it.

but he should be champion. he worked his ass off to come in the condition to pull that shit off and beat charlo fair and square. sickening!

Agreed. It'd be fun to watch some of squirm and others try to brazen it out.

I watched it on YouTube and the recording was awful: Camera too zoomed in and sound several seconds ahead of the action on screen. I wish I'd have had the opportunity to watch it properly. What I saw did not do justice to a very good fight. Kudos to them both.

Stream had Russian commentary. I thought Charlo won, although admittedly I haven't scored a fight in ages.

Castano was rocked at one stage. Castano was aggressive but Charlo was scoring well and controlling distance. Nice jab, straights.
I don't think it was a robbery by any means. Just my opinion.

Not a robbery, but honestly thought it would be about 115-113 Castano. I've seen much worse decisions.

The draw result was fine. Had the Jermell scorecard been around a 115-113 at the most, then fair enough, but when you get a 117-111 for Jermell, it just leaves a sour taste, like Castano didn't have a chance really with that judge did he?

Brian Castano clearly won this fight, 9 rounds to 3. You can go one round either way but its a clear Castano win and an outright robbery.

Another example of a home country fighter receiving an unfair advantage in judging. That decision is 100% based on Charlo being American and the promotional A Side. I'm not saying Americans are worse than other countries but surely Castano had no chance on getting a decision fighting an American in USA.
