The boxer is my father who passed away in 2008.
His name is in the database as John Hunt #036064
heavyweight, active from 1953-1961. His most celebrated contest was against Roy Harris in 1959 in El Paso. He fought Harris with a broken wrist (as my father told it) and after the fight suffered a heat stroke. The fight was Harris’ only “ No Contest” decision. Can someone tell me if that was because of my father’s heat stroke or another reason? The bout record lists a Texas boxing commission rule number as the reason the fight was stopped in the fifth round. Please enlighten me.
Also, admin should upload the following pic to my father’s record. It is a contemporaneous promotional picture. Let me know if the link doesn’t work and I can email it if you give me an email address. My address is [email protected].
