It would be refreshing to see Castano winning. He gave Lara a tough fight. Indeed Charlo is a big dude that he's always in good shape.

I saw that most of the people have Charlo to win by T/KO which could happen but as I said Castano is no slouch and he's coming to win. He should be careful to not get countered and stay sharp b/c this Charlo would be looking for.

Somebody PLEASE tell me that this fight is still on. I just read some BS that it’s off on account of Charlo’s gloves. Castano’s Team is not fighting? Please, am I being messed with?

Phew!
Glad it is still on. I'm rooting for Castrano too :box:
Realistically I give him a 40% chance.
Either way, it should be an entertaining fight.

If Charlo fails to score the knockout, then Castano‘s workrate could result in him earning a decision victory.

It’s almost a 50-50 fight in my eyes.

I favour a knockout victory for Charlo by the smallest of margins, but my confidence in my prediction is low, because I also feel that Castano is more likely to win on the scorecards if it goes the distance.

I used to say may the best man win then that became, may the right man win. May the judges score it right. :OhYes:

Well guys I'm glad that Castano make Charlito sweat a lot. Castano was fighting very well staying in Charlo's chest, having that high guard and pressuring Charlo.

I'd take this DRAW as a WIN for Castano knowing that Charlo is a PBC darling.

Good job Castano! :TU:

By the way do you know that Castano defeated Errol Spence Jr. in the semifinals of the 2011 Pan American Games tournament?

Castano won that. Side A got saved from a loss by the judges.

Some honest twitts:

Andre S.O.G. Ward

"Great fight. Close fight. I want to see a rematch. I had Castano winning. 117-111 was a terrible score card. Terrible !"

"Judge Nelson Vazquez needs to be sat down. That’s wasn’t a mistake, that’s incompetence !"

:salut: Kudos to Ward for speaking his mind and not playing the card of "let's be nice&neutral to not upset some people"

ShowtimeShawn Porter

"7-5 Castano. Hope the judges do the right thing. Overall I thought it was a competitive and exciting fight."

Sergio Mora

"Getting a draw in Texas against a Texan means you won convincingly, they just can’t let you leave with a victory."

Getting a draw in Texas against a texan and a pbc 'star' is pretty much like a decision victory.

If the rematch would be in Texas, then Castano must stop somehow Charlo, to get the win. Anyway the guy that has more good chances to get the T/KO is Charlo b/c he has the better punching power.

It reminded me a bit of Mayorga putting pressure on Vernon Forrest in another fight I watched at 154 lbs. Let us see what adjustments they can make in a rematch. In the former Forrest did better in the rematch but still lost.
Or how about Taylor folding under Pavlik's pressure? Again Taylor did better in the rematch but still lost.

I gained re respect for both fighters watching this fight.
Caetano should of got the thinnest decision in my opinion.
But in the rematch I'd favor Charlo because he has more pure skill and should be able to make adjustments

It would be interesting to see what Charlo would do next. Maybe he'd move up at 160? He's a big dude and I guess making 154 ain't that easy for him.

Anyway I'd like to see the rematch on neutral ground with fair judges. :OhYes:

At 154 there's no other option, but a rematch against Castano. The justice must prevail. 160 doesn't look possible, unless Mall moves up.

Charlo could fight Danny Garcia at 154, so it may be an option. Spence could move up at 154 in the next future.

Errol Spence Jr. is unlikely to make the jump to 154lbs until Jermell moves to 160lbs and Jermall jumps to 168lbs.

I can’t provide a source, but Errol Spence Jr. strongly suggested this was the case a year or so ago. And Jermell Charlo pretty much said the same thing last week.

I don’t think those three guys want to compete in the same weight class.
