Heavyweights: Alexander Povetkin vs. Oscar Bonavena

Post by scorpio83 »

12 or 15 Rounds Heavyweight Bout

Povetkin would get the better of Ringo by out-boxing him behind his jabs and long heavy combinations to take a decision. What do you guys think and who do you got?

Povetkin was a much more skilled competitor than the brawler Bonavena. Both were tough and preferred to be aggressive, so it would be an action-packed fight. Povetkin would get better in the most of the exchanges because of his edge in technique and arsenal.

Obviously, we've never seen Povetkin in a 15 round bout, but hardly it would be a problem for a professional athlete of Povetkin's level to prepare for 15 rounds instead of 12 and settle a proper pace. So, there wouldn't be much difference with 12 and 15 round bouts.

I'd pick Povetkin to win 8-4-ish or 10-5-ish. Possibly Povetkin would stop Bonevena later on, more likely technically.

Povetkin would win handily. Late KO or UD.
