2020 Olympic Boxing
NBC is providing extensive coverage of the olympics via its streaming services. You’ll need a provider that carries NBC to stream it. Not sure about the workarounds for you folks overseas or how you guys watch your boxing, but if there’s a link to your nation’s TV provider please PM me so I can share it here.

Re: 2020 Olympic Boxing
It seems the Olympics like to make it difficult for fight fans to catch Olympic boxing matches. As if they are ashamed of boxing. They make it so difficult for the average fight fan to find when the fights are televised and when. If they don't put it on a regular cable channel, I sure as heck won't be able to catch any of it. Sad.

Re: 2020 Olympic Boxing
It’s a bummer for sure that it (and wrestling for that matter) don’t get more TV time as opposed to something like marathon cycling, badminton, or beach volleyball. Some of the boxing is on USA. But it’s on late at night or early morning EST.HeavyHitters wrote: ↑12 Jul 2021, 11:09 It seems the Olympics like to make it difficult for fight fans to catch Olympic boxing matches. Re: 2020 Olympic Boxing
If you download the official app, which launched in Japan today. You can check the schedules for each of the individual sports.
I just downloaded it off the Google Play store. It let's you filter by sport. And it seems they have the predicted start times of each fight.
Mine shows the Japan times, so you might want to check the times being shown are accurate.
e.g. July 24th, the first fight starts at 11:00 Women's Feather Preliminaries R32.
Men's boxing starts on the same day at 12:03 Men's Feather Preliminaries R32.
Hope it helps.

Re: 2020 Olympic Boxing
Not sure it is the fault of the organizers, the boxing literally runs most days from 11:00am to about 8:30pm or 9pm at night. More an issue with local broadcasters.HeavyHitters wrote: ↑12 Jul 2021, 11:09 It seems the Olympics like to make it difficult for fight fans to catch Olympic boxing matches. Re: 2020 Olympic Boxing
I think the NBC link I provided has the broadcast time, which makes sense for 10PM EST on the 23rd if the boxing starts at 11:00am on the 24th Tokyo time.Finkel wrote: ↑14 Jul 2021, 04:36 If you download the official app, which launched in Japan today. Yup, I haven't watched a bout in 20 or 30 years.HeavyHitters wrote: ↑12 Jul 2021, 11:09 It seems the Olympics like to make it difficult for fight fans to catch Olympic boxing matches. I guess I don’t understand how you can get online to post on this message board….but can’t seem to get online to stream the fights.HeavyHitters wrote: ↑12 Jul 2021, 11:09 It seems the Olympics like to make it difficult for fight fans to catch Olympic boxing matches. Re: 2020 Olympic Boxing
Imam Khataev looks crude but fun. like to see him as a pro. 5'9 light heavy that looks like he packs a big punch for light heavy.
Re: 2020 Olympic Boxing
Keyshawn Davis from the USA was just magic to watch.
Slick, accurate and mobile.

Re: 2020 Olympic Boxing
he looks better as an am than he has a pro
Re: 2020 Olympic Boxing
The Azerbaijani vs the Ukrainian at 63kg was a decent scrap. The Azer fighter settled a crazy tempo and later he a bit suffered from that, but he gutted a win.
Re: 2020 Olympic Boxing
Britain's Luke McCormack edged the hard fought SD dec against the Indian.
Re: 2020 Olympic Boxing
Cro vs Jor at 81kg was a so ugly fight. A lot of headbutts and holding. Both fighters got cut and deducted a point. Cro won a SD.
Re: 2020 Olympic Boxing
Same with IRL vs UZB at 81 kg. More punches landed on the back of their heads than in the scoring area. Too much holding going on in these fights.
Re: 2020 Olympic Boxing
I've not seen him as a pro.
Almost too slick. While his style may not garner heaps of KO's, I could see him outboxing his way to top 5 easy.

Re: 2020 Olympic Boxing
you should check them out, he is obviously good but was not really 'WOW' quality as a pro...had a bit of a jittery/nervous look to him when pressed.....a ways to go before he's top 5

Re: 2020 Olympic Boxing
Frazer clarke has a tough fight in a few days, Poor guy has being pipped twice for an olympic spot now he is strait in to a very tough fight, hope he wins, to miss quali twice then loose first match would be devistating.
Re: 2020 Olympic Boxing
I coached against him in a tournament in Finland like 5 or 6 years ago and I was impressed with him. He easily beat our boxer.gregregegg wrote: ↑26 Jul 2021, 07:37 Frazer clarke has a tough fight in a few days, Poor guy has being pipped twice for an olympic spot now he is strait in to a very tough fight, hope he wins, to miss quali twice then loose first match would be devistating.

30 next week
Will he do anything in pro ranks lads?
To make it turning pro at 30 you need to be an enigma. Is he?

The guy he's fighting is like a Muay Thai fighter who switched. Can find much about his actual boxing careergregregegg wrote: ↑26 Jul 2021, 07:37 Frazer clarke has a tough fight in a few days, Poor guy has being pipped twice for an olympic spot now he is strait in to a very tough fight, hope he wins, to miss quali twice then loose first match would be devistating.
