Dubois and Tommy Fury

Post by maverick23 »

Bunce and Frank were alluding to some sort of ‘extravaganza’ in the US for Dubois and Tommy Fury.

Anyone heard of anything? I think they were trying to get Trevor Bryan for Dubois so could it be a co promotion with Don King?

what would tommy fury have to offer in america?

he's not a celebrity there and has no credibility as a boxer.....at least dubois is hard punching super heavyweight with some sort of 'world title'

He wouldn’t offer much. The last interview I heard with Frank about it he said that Fury and Jake Paul are big social media stars so make the fight AJ’s split it 50/50.

Perhaps they’re actively trying to get him out over in the US to be able to see he’s now a name over there or something. If they put an opponent in with him of the same weight and who’s genuinely trying to win then then he may come unstuck.

For Tommy Fury all roads lead to a mega money social media stars showdown with one of the redneck brothers. This one fight will earn him more than the combined purses of any number of British / European level fights he may have even assuming he can get to that level.

He should strike now while the iron’s hot. Plodding along in low level fights while his love island celebrity status fades as the kids gradually forget about him won’t do him much good financially

Fury has the perfect boxer’s body - long arms, broad shoulders, low fat. Huge at the weight.

But there’s something missing. Or maybe a few things. His timing and accuracy are not good. And the way they’ve been protecting him I bet he’s chinny.

He would be favourite against Jake Paul, but a Paul Ko wouldn’t shock me…. Jake is a cruiser too.

Tommy isn’t gonna do anything in traditional pro boxing so he may as well go the celeb route.

Does Fury really need money ? Him and his other half must be making a fortune from instagram influencing. What would fighting Paul mean against winning a Northern Area title or a WBO penta continental junior interim title ?

Jake and tommy are pretty simular weight i think. Both are bit big for 175 (could make it but decent cut) but too small for 200. I hate that gap existing, but for low levle bouts it dosent mtter, 190 catchweight would be fine.

Jake weighs in at 190 and says he puts on 10lbs after weigh in. Funnily enough he doesn't look that big, Fury looks bigger and how he makes 175 I don't know.

Dont know if jake actualy cuts weight, if so dont know why they didnt just make this woodly fight at 200.... cause woodly will probably have to cut a little weight to make 190 (unless he has done what he should of and dumped some mucel).

Tommy fury hasnt made 175 ever as a pro and was 189 last fight... they are simular size, paul might be a few lbs heavier, but hughie would be too if he didnt insist on stays crazy lean and within range of making 175.

I stand corrected. They always bill him as a light heavyweight. Last fight was 189 but his average weight is 181. Probably walks in at 200lbs. Paul has claimed he gets in the ring at about 200lb too.

Also you called him Hughie lol. You obviously have the white Muhammad Ali on you mind :-)

Perhaps Jake Paul will let them be on his undercard.

I can’t see Frank promoting his own show over there.

fornicate that’s not a bad shout although I think it’s just to close to be possible but mabey. Makes sense for Paul, gets a heavyweight “world title” on his undercard…. Flex. And he gets to keep the fury. Paul rivalry going making that fight bigger if it ever happens.

He's not a lot more proven that Paul it's true.
Jake could fight Tommy in UK for a big crowd, huge event and everyone make a lot of money if it's done right.
I know a lot of forumites would die first then turn in their graves, rather than watch, but I'd enjoy it.

Would be the first time The Skankstress wants to buy the PPV and invite her little friends over ! :box: :yay:

There is not a snowball in hell’s chance that Frank would get Fury and Dubois to the USA so they could fight in America and it be an “extravaganza” .
Struggle to sell tickets to the yanks over there. and even if the borders did open for U.K. fight fans I’m not sure how many would travel for them.

Million percent agree. Not suggesting he’s Sugar Ray Cassius Clay Jones Jnr the third. But he’s not awful and completely useless by any stretch.

Some MMA fans I know say Woodley is going to absolutely pan him…. I’m not so sure .

Why would Jake come to the U.K. when he’s selling so many PPVs in the US?
