Levit got stopped by the Spanish fighter. He didn't look confident in the 1st round and got knocked down hard in the 2nd, after what the ref waved him. A big upset, but it looked like Levit was past his best.

The Moroccan who was fighting David Nyika tried to bite his ear!

The ref was on the blind side so missed it but Nyika was a clear winner.

Fair bit of drama already then. I’m genuinely shocked by the Levit KO. The biting is just horrible, David posted about it on his Instagram, quite funny.

Where’s everyone watching? BBC dropped the ball on this one

Our local TV (Russian) shows almost everything. And without our own fighters (I suppose, ROC isn't translated anywhere).

I’m watching on the BBC. Richie and Ronald on comms.

I think the weight categories didn’t help Cheavon. The weight division spans 10kg so 22lbs and he’s on the small side for it whilst his opponent was at the higher end.

He’ll be a small cruiser if he turns pro.

That Spanish boxer is actually a Cuban exile. And he’s facing a Cuba’s Julio La Cruz in the 1/4 finals. Should be some needle in that one! Can’t wait.

Any idea how to watch it in the UK as I doubt the bbc will cover it.

It’s on the BBC website/red bottom. Find out when it’s on and tune in.

Yeah, gotta be an interesting "Cuban" derby. Still Cruz is favored.

Irish Walker got a disputable SD over the Uzbek at 57kg and advanced to 1/4.

The Uzbek was an aggressor and landed the biggest shots. I strongly disagree with this dec.

The US Ragan scored a UD over the Kazakh. It was competetive, yet the dec is fair enough.

You can go usaboxing.org , click 2020 Olympic updates then hit watch. They’re showing all of the fights. You can watch them live or after their over.

I keep missing the irish fights by a few minutes on the way to work but was just talking to me mate and he said the uzbek should have got the nod. Still, one fight away from a medal now :bag:

The ROC Khataev won a great slugfest vs the Kazakh fighter at 81kg. Khataev is a power punching monster, I favor him to win Gold.

Ben Whittaker had a good win against the Egyptian 4th seed. Won every round fairly clearly.

Lauren Price also showed why’s she’s favourite.

2 from 2 so far for the Brits today.

Whittaker looked fine, but his opponent was poor.

I see Whitaker dealing with the Brazilian in 1/4, while the ROC will deal with the Spanish (Dagesatani immigrant).

In 1/2 Khataev vs Whittaker sounds interesting. Khataev is fast and incredibly powerful, while Whittaker has a good movement and big height/range. I think, Khataev will pull out a win, cause he just hurts everybody. Try to box him or try to fight him, he delivers pain.

A decent tactical affair in 1/4 between the British and the Australian girls at 57kg. The British one got a close SD. She was more aggressive, but I felt, that the Australian girl edged because of good counters. A really close bout.
