15 Rounds Middleweight Bout
The Marvelous One was the only member of the Four Kings who never fought Benitez, who would had fought Hagler had he beat Mustafa Hamsho.
Benitez at middleweight wasn't his weight, but had he beat Hamsho and fought Hagler for his World Middleweight Title, then Hagler would be too Marvelous and overwhelm Benitez by cutting him off the ring or ropes. He banged Benitez's head back behind his southpaw jabs, land heavy combinations and knocks Benitez out with a crushing right hook in 2 through 4 rounds. What do you guys think and who do you got?
Middleweights: Marvelous Marvin Hagler vs. Wilfred Benitez
Re: Middleweights: Marvelous Marvin Hagler vs. Wilfred Benitez
Hagler would brutalize Benitez. At the MW Benitez' slickness wasn't at its best, while Hagler could settle a terrific pace. And Benitez' chin wasn't very good. Hagler would get to Benitez pretty early and batter him to the stoppage.

Probably wouldn’t last more than four or five rounds. A middleweight monster vs a light WW or WW star.

I've always felt disappointed that they never fought. Could've been very intriguing. Styles make fights Could've Really Factored into this particular bout. Maybe Hagler would just be too much and mow him down by the 8th round, maybe 10th round, or maybe it would've gone the distance. In which case it wouldn't have shocked me if Benitez would've shocked the world, sort to speak. But really wouldn't have shocked me.
