Tokyo olympics
Re: Tokyo olympics
The British big guy Clarke look solid, outboxed the Ukrainian handily... but again with SD.
Re: Tokyo olympics
I wondered, how the Tajik "athlete" had made it to the Olympic team, but the commentator said, that the father of the little fatty works in the Tajik government.
Aliev of France looks solid. He'll handle Clarke and face Jalolov in 1/2. It can become interesting.

He’s going to be really tough to beat. Still annoys me though that he can fight in the Olympics. I know he’s only had 8 pro fights but I’m a firm believer that you’re either pro or amateur - you shouldn’t be both.

Re: Tokyo olympics
i have seen that happen at least 3 times with kynziak alone in other tournaments, vs ben whitaker, troy isley, and gleb bakshi. beat up all 3 yet somehow only ended with a 4-1 split. not sure what is going on with that type of thing.....it happens way too much
watching the 2019 worlds, there was a filipino judge who would deliver absolute shockers time and time again. guys would get their asses battered and he'd have the winning. then there'd be a super close fight and he'd turn in soething like 30-26

It's especially strange to observe with Khyzhniak. He was just dominating all of them.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑29 Jul 2021, 03:45 i have seen that happen at least 3 times with kynziak alone in other tournaments, vs ben whitaker, troy isley, and gleb bakshi. beat up all 3 yet somehow only ended with a 4-1 split. not sure what is going on with that type of thing.....it happens way too much

Re: Tokyo olympics
A SD dec at 75kg for the lazy Brazilian is disputable. The Chinese tough plodder worked and scored quite good.
Re: Tokyo olympics
What a nice slugfest between Amankul and Kakhramonov.
Re: Tokyo olympics
Another how-come-split-dec, this time in the ROC-USA fight. Bakshi won it clearly.
Re: Tokyo olympics
The US SHW Torres looked fine, technical and fast enough, outclassed the Algerian.
Re: Tokyo olympics
The Cuban Pero outboxed the Columbian fighter. Cuban's face has some similarities with young Mike Tyson's one.
Torres vs Pero should be interesting.

Re: Tokyo olympics
Nice win for The ROC Veriasov over the Camerunian slugger. Veriasov seemed hurt a bit in the 2nd, but was in control overall.
Re: Tokyo olympics
The Kazakh Kunkabayev outclassed the huge Egyptian.
Probably Kunkabayev will defeat Veriasov in 1/4. Him against the Torres-Pero wil be intriguing.

The Jamaican guy is huge. Get him to America, get him a good trainer and turn him pro. Not many good heavies out there and money to be made.
Indian guy looked way smaller but nice boxer.
Not sure who that fat bastard Azer guy was - he looked about a foot shorter than French. And his back was very hairy. But he was tough. Maybe he’s a Sinan Samol San type but hopefully without the drink problem

Re: Tokyo olympics
What are Dubois chances? She’s priced at 5-1 meant to be special I thought?
Re: Tokyo olympics
US went 1-2 today so no favoritism. They were fair decisions. 6 x world champ Mary Kom from India lost in a split today. She is like 37 and probably will retire. The Colombian who beat her looked good.

Re: Tokyo olympics
has the age of our olympians been getting older? many in late 20s or earlier 30s.....'young' ben whitakker already mid 20s
aj was 22 in the olympics and not regarded as especially young
