Makes me laugh the insistence on having female presenters to visibly demonstrate equality. Yet not one of them is a big fat ugly bird. Sky don’t have a single big fat meff presenting - I doubt we’ll ever see a proper hippocroccopig presenting on sky. Equality goes for them too.

How the WBA justify having a WBA world champion being superseded by the WBA super world champion is baffling .
Your whole statement just summarises how baffling boxing is now mate.

I wanna see Wood banged out for calling himself a world champion.
Good fighter, great fight tonight.
That’s an old school intercontinental title win… at best.
I know what you’re saying. It ruins what’s a great win for me as they all lie saying he’s a world champ.
It put me off Quigg & Fielding too

Lee had the Cullen fight even when they interviewed him during the fight. That raised an eyebrow

Wood won that comfortably, great win. Good card overall. I'd like a CBS McCarthy rematch.

I hate it too but in fairness Santa Cruz hasn't defended that belt in 2.5 years and isn't fighting at the weight. Not sure how that is allowed.

Didn't agree with Andy Lee at all for the Wood/Can fight but still thought he was class overall

I don’t think he does. I hope he proves me wrong he’s a nice kid but I think he’s done very well to win British & European titles.

Give any boxer an opportunity to call themselves a world champion and they’ll take it.

It’s like saying Quigg was never a world champion. Facts.

Has this card trended much on Brit twitter? I'm looking at the Irish one and it hasn't at all really. Sky shows used to.

Not an important metric but I doubt we get viewing figures. This is where all these influencers come in but not sure it works like that.

Why don't they have Kate Abdo, she does Dazn US boxing coverage? She does football in UK for CBS.

btw.....wood tonight......that is how a guy like hughie fury should fight

you can do all the flicking and feinting and herky jerk whatever.........but dont pull your punches before they land, actually commit to your shots and dig them home, and throw plenty of them. wood gave a very good show in how to mix the elusiveness with good busy offense and not merely air jabs from way too far away

there are better fighters than wood, but his execution of that type of style was bang on

Twinkle Toes wrote: 31 Jul 2021, 18:44 Bellew made an ass of himself, don't know what he was watching either, saying Can was going to come on strong. he was getting pegged back all night to that point.
Bellew the Bellend didn't disappoint. Before the Fowler fight he was saying Fowler needed to get the smaller guy out of there impressively; that beating him 10 rounds on points wasn't good enough ... 9 boring rounds later he stops the fella on his feet .. and Bellend says it was a great performance from Fowler🤡

And what language was Fowler speaking? Lithuanian with a Scouse twist??

I thought it was quite a boring night of boxing to be honest. Hatton jr was spectacular in that he is still so raw even with the experience of Matthew and Ricky around him .. he just looks ungainly and uncomfortable in there; I get he didn't have much amateur experience, but no way he gets anywhere as far as Matthew Hatton.

McCarthy v Smith was ok .. but how slow is Smith!! Very Joe Joyce...

The presentation of the show hasn't convinced me it's worth much more than a £5 a month.
Bellew and the dark haired bird with big hips were like listening to the wife pointlessly waffling on ..
The better looking blond just looked pretty and more interested striking a pose with her hand in her pocket than saying something worthwhile.

And the bias commentary is there from the beginning; it's not looking good.

Nope, didn’t trend at all.

Of the four close friends I have who follow boxing none of them have DAZN or watched the show.

And the IPTV messenging group I am in which always has people asking where best to watch the fight and discussing the fights on Sky and to a lesser extent BT, was silent last night.

Hearn/DAZN have to be concerned. I think people are underestimating how big Sky Sports is in UK/Ire compared to an unknown app like Dazn with no other rights.

Even the fact it's an app and not a TV channel is a big problem, if you don't have smart TV or PlayStation are casuals really going to watch it on the laptop. Older folk also would be put off.

That should be on DAZN themselves though. If they up the price next month it will be tight going

No interest in a Billam-Smith/McCarthy rematch for the time being at least, I had it a draw but either man edging it is perfectly fine, no need for immediate rematches in close fights, Billam-Smith moves on, McCarthy works his way back into contention
