Tommy Fury and Daniel Dubois set for Jake Paul vs Tyron Woodley undercard
Tommy Fury will make his American debut on the undercard of Jake Paul's upcoming bout with Tyron Woodley on August 29, Mirror Fighting understands.
The Love Island star, whose brother is world heavyweight champion Tyson, will face an American with professional fights in both MMA and boxing, in an eight-round contest.
Sources have indicated the bout will be the first of a two-fight deal Fury has signed with Showtime Boxing in the United States
The intention, Mirror Fighting understands, is for Fury to eventually face YouTube star Paul on the network.
Elsewhere on the card, sources have indicated that interim heavyweight champion Daniel Dubois will also compete for the first time outside of the UK.
The bout has yet to be confirmed, but it is understood he will face Trevor Bryan, the WBA regular world heavyweight champion who is signed to Don King.
An announcement on both fights is expected in the coming days, with Paul and his management both hinting as much on social media.
"Just got off an amazing call," Paul said in a tweet last night. "We finally signed and confirmed adding two massive fights to this card. August 29 will be the event of the year."
Fury said in a recent Instagram video that he was also expecting an announcement in the next week, and said that fans "won't be disappointed".
Paul's manager Nakisa Bidarian posted a cryptic message on Instagram from the account of his BAVAFA Sports management company saying, "Two more fights being announced next week."
"One of them will shock you," he added.
The event will take place at the RocketMortgage Fieldhouse in Paul's hometown of Cleveland, Ohio on Showtime pay-per-view in America.
Fury is 6-0, having recently defeated the unbeaten Jordan Grant, and will view this bout as an opportunity to boost his claim for a future fight with Paul.
Fury was rarely troubled as he won every round on the referee's scorecard and preserved his own unbeaten record against Grant last month and
But he was unable to add to his KO highlight reel despite Grant fighting for just the third time in the paid ranks.
Fury will likely be without his father John in his corner for the first time in his professional career as he is unable to enter the United States due to a visa issue.

Tommy doing the right thing. Never gonna earn as a standard pro, not good enough. So he needs to improve his profile in the USA as a celeb, good looking guy, Tyson's brother....
Do it right and He Xu Can earn several million against Paul. Which he ain't gonna do as a true pro.

Shame John can’t enter the States.
Dubois will be on an undercard of a YouTuber. Hmm..
Make no mistake. It’s a good move.
Raises his profile in the US a little. It’s PPV, a lot of casuals are gonna buy this.

Hard to see Dubois actually ending up in the ring with Bryan, but would love to be wrong. Due to Don King managing him. An unbeaten heavyweight with a partial claim on a version of the world heavyweight title is valuable to the ancient King, a commodity, and I just can't see him risking all that against Dubios. The fight makes perfect sense as a progression of sorts for Daniel, and Fwank, but no "title" fight with Bryan goes smoothly and I don't think King would have any intention of risking his man against Dubios. I really hope I'm wrong. Maybe somebody has found the money from somewhere to make King and Bryan an offer they can't refuse.

Re: Tommy Fury and Daniel Dubois set for Jake Paul vs Tyron Woodley undercard
I’ll believe Dubois/Bryan when I see it.
I wonder how it’s been sold to Showtime/Jake Paul. I’d expect that Frank’s said Tommy’s a big star in the U.K./similar to how Jake is in the US and will sell loads of PPVs in the U.K.
If they do it on BT ppv then I’d be surprised if it did 50,000 buys. Who knows though.
Frank’s struggled this year with his U.K. shows so not sure it’s the best idea to give 2 of his names to the US but if it ends up with Tommy fighting Jake for big money that it’s certainly worthwhile.

I seriously doubt that, travellers nearly always only date other travellers. They rarely even go with settled Irish people nevermind other ethnicities. Many travellers are dark haired like that, kinda Mediterranean look.JamesPhilips wrote: ↑01 Aug 2021, 10:02Er white guy LOL. He looks like he’s a Pashtun, like from North Pakistan. Mostly true but there are travellers who marry and date outside. I have read Tommy's mother is Asian. Also there are travelling people who are suspicious of John's claims about being from a traveller family from Galwaypeter barlow wrote: ↑01 Aug 2021, 11:22I seriously doubt that, travellers nearly always only date other travellers. Tommy fury fighting on the under card and then fighting jake paul end of year would is all the makings of a massive fight even if the hardcore boxing fans hate it. hopefuly they both get wins.
DDD wont fight trev bryant, don king is too hard to deal with. Probably fight MARK DE MORI who just got put into the WBA rankings. So this will be a Heavyweight world championship.... (interim, and regular and trash), but its smart from DDD, good record, good ranking, should get a spectacular KO and then can move onto bigger and better things. also shouldent keep him out of the ring long, DDD is one of franks few stars, cant having him wasting too much time on someone elses show.
Everyone wins, Paul gets to build his next fight, and gets to bill a heavyweight title on his undercard. tommy and DDD get paid and USA exposure.

go find a picture of young john fury
the thick, curly black hair
the large, hooked nose
the intense dark eyes
put him in one of those comfy looking man dresses, and he could walk along the bagdad streets and no one would suspect an englishman

I think a lot of people here are making a big jump from Tommy Fury fighting on the undercard of a Paul brother fight to actually fighting Jake or Logan.
Why would they fight a guy who is completely unknown in the US, especially as he's actually trained in boxing & is nearer their size when there are still so many undersized UFC fighters who prefer to grapple rather than strike that are on the verge of retirement & looking for a final big payday?

Will do a bit more money in the U.K. but at a much lower price point.

So rather than Daniel fighting Trevor Bryan on this card, he’s actually fighting Joe Cusumano.
I’ve never heard of him before and his record is ropey as hell padded with wins against losing opponents.
Another poor test for Daniel that will do little to prepare him for a more meaningful fight.

Woodley is known by the 2m+ people who watch MMA in the US and when he hasn’t been fighting he’s been a regular analyst on their ESPN shows. Tommy won’t bring half the attention, even after a few undercard fights.coneye wrote: ↑02 Aug 2021, 13:15Given 8-12 months of good promoting in the USA being Tysons brother , it could posibly be a draw theremaverick23 wrote: ↑02 Aug 2021, 07:49I agree.
