McCallum must be the #1 guy for this topic, as he beat Graham & Watson -2 of our very best - and came back for Glen Thomas and Carl Jones. Those latter two weren't great (Jones did score a knockdown vs Nunn, though, apparently), but McCallum was over the age of 36 & putting on masterclasses.

looking a little bit back, you had Buster Drayton knocking out Jimmy Cable and Mark Kaylor, funny they never asked him back after that!

ok, I can find Vitali Klitschko, Mike Tyson, Oliver McCall, Trevor Berbick, Tim Witherspoon, Nikolay Valuev, John Ruiz, George Foreman, James Smith, Greg Page, Gerrie Coetzee, Wladimir Klitschko, Tony Tucker, Corrie Sanders, Michael Bentt.
They are all heavyweight title holders since 1980, from overseas that have boxed here.

Yes it is a very slow day at work.

I think I was genuinely touched by a few beers that night!

Also what night was it when there was a near riot there? Steve Murray was fighting some pikey I remember that. I was sitting with Goz and there was a massive punchup going on a few feet away. Brilliant!

I missed that, I seem to remember it got postponed and I couldn't make the new date, would have loved to have seen Tapia in action live. Wonder how he's doing these days?

I'm sure I read somewhere he is fighting again soon.

I wish he'd retire permanently! Strikes me as the type who wont though and will keep fighting well into his 40's.

He got KO'd in 2 in his last fight as well against relatively medicore competition, don't think he's been training too hard in recent years and with his drug fuelled lifestyle, that's a big danger.

Thing is, he's hugely popular in new mexico, has quite a following, so the tempatation is there to earn a buck.

Tapia was a great fighter. I'm talking a couple of years before the barrera and the medina fights. Terific WBO super flyweight champ. and he was in two amazing fights with Paulie Ayala. I felt Tapia won that 2nd fight

Manuel Medina has got to a quality import over here, and he definatly won against Tapia when they boxed. Medina was robbed that night.

Wasn't Bentt officially British.

I suppose now you forgot Henry Akinwande, who is now fighting as a Nigerian.

Anyone remember Affif Djelti, I thought he was a quality import.
Lost to Barry Jones and Colin dunne on points, but beat Charles Sheppard, Ian Mcleod, Dean Pithie and Alex Moon.
And Im sure he was close to 40 when he beat Sheppard not bad for a Super Feather

The best import now, I'd say, is Jackson Asiku. He's got what seems a solid base now. No more journey(man)ing around at late notice and poss getting a raw deal. I think he'll beat Nedal Hussein for the Commonwealth title, in what will be a rematch of a fight JA lost.

Dave McAuley Ko'd Matlala cold in the 10th round and I thought that would be the last we heard of him. Wierd what he achieved.

Azumah Nelson knocking Pat Cowdell sparko with one awesome left uppercut in the first round and then beating an unbelievably brave Jim McDonnell at the Royal Albert Hall.

Excellent little fight that no-one saw which, bizarrely, took place at York Hall, Bethnal Green in 1987 – Edwin 'Chapo' Rosario v Frankie 'The Surgeon' Randall. Think it was only shown in America. The tragic Rosario (RIP), who was a brilliant little fighter in his prime, won on points and we all know what Randall went on to become the first man to beat Julio Cesar Chavez.

Glen Johnson has been a very good import over here too. Was ringside the night he dismantled Toks Owoh. Classy fighter that night.

I always liked Buck Smith. He only had one fight in the UK, but was brought in as the fall guy but Ko'd Kirkland Laing with one punch.

He has loads of dodgy fights and record padding, but still beat Robert Wangila

Choi Tseveenpurev looks to be a good boxer , he's from Mongolia , but boxes over here at featherweight.
He might be one of those boxers that will struggle to get matched with british boxers as he's so dangerous

Goyo Vargas was punch perfect in dismantling Paul H for his world title, looked at future P4P that night.

And of course the G Man gave us an unforgetable if tragic night. That guy had to be one of the most fearsome imports we've ever seen.
