I don't know the details but I would rather have 50% of £1m than 90% of £100k
Do you want mean his best purse without the McGs would have been 100k?

He wasn’t the only one posting it. DAZN kept going backstage and showing us what was happening too.

He was trained, managed and promoted well (although Barry wanted to be co-promoter for another % which caused his split from Matchroom) but that doesn’t excuse the dodginess and corruption from some members of the McGuigan family.

There’s a reason they settled rather than having more of their dirty laundry brought to attention.

For what it’s worth I think Shane is an excellent and probably wasn’t involved with the funny business but, as would most, he’s been heavily on the defensive with his family.
Of course

I am just thinking about they key areas- training, management and money; and they have big ticks against at least 2 of these 3 elements (and in theory if the boxer is trained and managed correctly then bigger money will follow)
A case could be made for saying if Frampton was managed correctly he would of made more money and not had to spend big money on Lawyers because his management were not doing the right thing ,

Also if Frampton had been paid his full entitlement he def would have been paid more.
It's one thing having to wait for your money, but quite another not to get it.
What fighters has McGuigan still got? CBS, Fowler, I don't think he has any cash cows.
Dubois could be, is Okalie with them?

He has Okolie too.

Quigg had the best comeback for all the Frampton-McGuigan crap.

Why wouldn’t Frampton go there. He can do what he likes. This is just creating a story.

Shane trains them but I don’t think Barry is formally involved with the management of any of them. Okolie is managed by 258 whilst Dubois is managed by Martin Bowers.

Barry has got CBS yeah? And then Fowler is just trained by Shane.
Without Frampton and Taylor they have taken a big hit.
Just imagine trying to mug the Bowers brothers off for money! It would take a very brave man to do that!

I’m not sure Barry is managing CBS - he might be.

I think It’s a brave boxer who’d trust Barry as a promoter/manager going forward. His matchmaking was pretty much always spot on but there are just too many doubts over his business ethics. It’s also a massive conflict to promote and manage a boxer. FW gets away with it despite having several issues over the years. There’s a reason it’s outlawed in America.

Not really , it does'nt take a lot of concentration to watch hands being rapped , plus he would know more than anyone if its a formality or if you had to really watch for shane pulling a shonky
In all my time watching boxing I’ve never seen someone messing about on their phone when they’re supposed to be watching hands been wrapped. Just didn’t seem professional to me.

Shane seems to becoming more of a tit as he grows older. He used to seem decent. Oh well he's his father's son. Loves a pound note, doesn't care about people.

Anyway I thought Mccarthy bringing in Frampton was a great troll, and a mall psychological victory (it obviously got in Shane and Barry's head)... even if ultimately it didn't matter.

It would be fun if every single fight, however small, in which a McGuigan fighter took part, Carl Frampton would turn up to check the gloves..... come on, they would eventually blow their top LMAO

It would be classic. I heard Frampton's a bit of a dead eye nutter. Shame he doesn't live in London.... he could turn up at every show where McGuigans were, eyeball them, and check the hadwraps. Maybe even make remarks constantly and make micro complaints while Shane does the wraps

It would be deserved too.... they shouldn't have tried to rip Carl off especially as McGuigan Snr was a fighter himself.... also didn't hypocrite Bazza try to set up a professional boxing association to protect boxers, then he rips off his own fighters?

Talk about a wolf in sheep's clothing..... I'm on Team Frampton all the way.
