Weird round. Wardley looked very open, particularly to the right hand but when he came forward Webb had no answer.

The ref should have given a count though to give Webb some respite when he was seemingly being held up by the corner.

Yeah, definitely should've given him a count at one of the two times when he dropped. Probably would've ultimately lost but seems silly not to give him the count there when it could be applied when he would've got it if he got flattened in the middle of the ring.

The referee was stopping Webb from trying to get up by kneeling on Nick’s legs and body! Webb even pushes him off. Def count needed, not that many clean shots landed. Another Matchroom stoppage

Interesting stoppage. Probably could of given a count for the ropes holding him up. But he was leaning into the ropes not falling into the ropes… not much else he can do if he didn’t give a count there he couldent leave web on the ropes getting smacked up like that forever (he waved it befor he went down, he didn’t know he was going down so there was no end on site for the punishment)

2/ Webb takes a left to gloves/head
3/ Webb hurt but not too badly
4/ Wardley not stopped in that position
5/ imagine every fight stopped at that stage… especially in rd 1
6/ British boxing not helping their fighters prepare for real world boxing at all

Problem with that stoppage is we just had Mark Bennett take a million punches in the fight before where he had no hope of winning.

But Webb took a fair few flush shots and did not throw back. Should have had a count imo
