Great work rate which very likely added to the lack of spite in the punches; it would have been nice to have seen him slip in the occasional heavy punch, and he did get caught by some eye catching punches which seemed to influence things more than they should have .. was it the 7th round Dickens landed a nice 3 punch combo? That's just about all he landed in that round, but Lee gave him the round. I only had Dickens sharing 2 or 3 rounds. Very brave man.

Again, the quality of the show was very weak. Laura is very pretty .. and that's about it; not sure what else she is there for? The amount of times she has her hands in her pockets I think emphasises that she too not got much idea what her actual role is .. basically a talked round card girl is my guess.

Quite bizarre the Bellend & Dillian section .. like a amphetamine induced psychotic episode .. slumped in chairs .. speaking a mystery language .. and one of them wearing a bucket hat made out of an OAPs swimming costume.
I think you’re in the minority that think the show was weak and that Laura Woods isn’t any good.

I thought it was just as good as a Sky show with the benefit or more content in place of adverts and I think Laura Woods is extremely good as a knowledgeable interviewer/presenter.

Like Laura woods personally , has a really calm interviewing demeanor .
Bar the main event the other fights I saw were poor .

They only have 1 show per month September and October.

Can't see how a price increase is realistic. There is zero other content. Unless they have the Serie A rights I'm unsure why price would increase. Even the Canelo fight is off.
DAZN UK really need something else to add.

At the moment, for UK fans, it’s just a boxing app.

They need other sports.

I noticed other apps have other means of showing their content..

You have ESPN+ which add anything and everything, but they also have ESPN.

UFC fight pass show a lot of boxing too, UFC is a beast promotion as well.

I put hands up to the fact I expecting a lot more than what SKY used to serve up - but I guess that shows how poor standards dropped to, and what boxing fans are now happy to accept.

I have no idea what she has actually done or said to prove herself as extremely good and knowledgeable?? I have yet to hear her give one insightful thing on the boxing, or ask anything other than a pointless question .. she basically just been a pretty woman for the viewers to look at between bouts.

Although I do agree that Laura Woods is not annoying - but is that the bench mark of being extremely good and knowledgeable for a boxing presenter nowadays??

I paid £1.99 as I thought it might be entertaining rather than watching skilful boxing and it was. Saying that once they up the price from £1.99 a month I think I'll be out especially as they now seem to be showing football on a Friday night on SKY plus BT's boxing will be enough for me.
Unless Eddie puts on some really stacked shows I can see this going like BN which had good intentions at the start but that soon ended

Ok - so if Sky/DAZN are of a poor standard, what’s a good standard they should aspire to?

Is there a bunch of bigger whingers than boxing fans?? I'm sure you're sound lads but fcvk me , people begrudging paying £2 a month or even a tenner if it goes up, B/Nation production was diabolical but it's still the best thing to happen for boxing fans in this country

I'll admit that I don't pay much attention inbetween fights, I'm usually having a joint or making a brew so maybe I don't expect much and miss a lot, even commentators don't bother me that much although there are exceptions in all fairness but I've got my own mind, even Andy Lee who I really like can have a far different opinion from me but I won't be calling for his head , after all it's 99% about the fights IMO, getting irate about pundits and presenters is no different than getting emotionally invested in fake beef

In saying that I'm always half full kind of guy so we can't all be the same, when I say boxing fans being whingers most of them are on twitter wanking into the same sock since school in there parents house, I don't get it, if something annoys you that much why keep watching week after week? Fvck it off

Don't understand why Jama is in that role.

Get a bloke in who knows boxing so that he can debate with the guests. She has no clue about boxing and comes out with some cringey lines trying to be all street.

She delivers lines in a robotic way. The guy who commentated last night and who does some stuff with Barker, Chris Lloyd? He would be better

Hate all this PC nonsense. Why put a woman in that role when it makes no sense??

I watch with the volume down. Therefore, I do not care what rubbish Bellew or anybody else is spewing. Between fights I am occupied in conversation, prepping food and drink, relieving myself, playing a hand of cards or two, and/or commenting on the previous fight on here.

Eye candy sitting and/or standing around on set works fine for the glimpses the show gets between fights.

I enjoyed the show. The quality of comp was not up to the PBC show, but it was not marred by a 100% robbery and a cut and run. Therefore, I found it superior.

I also preferred it to last night’s UFC show, which I got on my Russian propaganda feed.

I enjoyed the show tbh, but it was of a fairly low standard outside the last 2 fights.

I don't think anyone has an issue with 2 quid. But if you're talking 8-10 quid for literally 1 UK show a month, and nothing else barring an odd Golden boy show then I don't think it's value.

I had Bnation for couple years, it was great but it also had much more content. It had the best Amercican cards everyweek and Russian and German shows. Also decent programmes of their own. Bunce etc presenting who know boxing

I think DAZN success depends on what other sport they get. In other countries they have loads of football and other sports. I imagine Hearn will try get snooker and darts on eventually. And they will pick up the leftovers of BT Sport if they are leaving the market

Was 3 heavyweight fights on the card to be fair.
I didn't know that. To be fair, I've become much more of a 'casual' since COVID-19. I went to the Joyce-Takam fight and got upgraded to ringside, but even then it still felt uncomfortable in a weird way and I didn't even try and get tickets for AJ-Usyk although I'd love to see them both live: I'd rather just stay in and watch the fights these days, unless it's Joyce who I'm a cheerleader for or the mythical AJ-Fury fight, which I'll pay through the nose for.

Did I miss anything?
You missed the fact that you are a big lad that can crush smaller guys ribcages after you had a few beers. Congratulations boxing fan.

I put my hands up (again) as being guilty of whinging about stuff that is not that important; for £2 a month nobody should really be complaining. I guess I`m looking at it with one eye on the inevitable price rise.

Ultimately DAZN are selling a package to get us to subscribe each month. The fights are of course the primary selling point - and if there is good match ups then everyone is happy. However, when the matchmaking is poor, and the card very weak, the commentators and presenters are there to try and polish the show from a turd to something shiney.
The current set up are failing to do that - I know there are some good knowledgeable people on the team, but so far they are in the wrong role.

I don`t see too many paying £10 a month based on the last two weeks quality.

Ticks a few boxes. She’s a woman. Tick. She’s half Somalian half Swedish(I think) tick.

The bbc done it with the Olympics having 2 lesbians doing the presenting. One former athlete and one not. Knowledge has fck all to do with it now it seems. It’s all about equal opportunities.

That won’t be the only reason but she’ll help in promoting the shows. 2.3m insta followers - a lot of which will be sports fans that may not know there’s boxing on DAZN.

She’s a good presenter. Doesn’t have any boxing experience but she doesn’t need to so long as there are 2 experts there to debate things.

It’s a tough sell even to the casuals. Most of whom would have had Sky for watching football thus boxing was already accessible. When they stick the price up by another fiver or whatever I think the subs will drop. They’ll not shell out a hard earned tenner just to watch some tidy bird talk sh1te to a matchroom yes man. Or maybe they will?

Joshua and Fury are the main draws for casuals and only on the PPV platform.

We know she is pretty; that she is not annoying, and her hands get cold. But what in your opinion makes her a good presenter for a boxing only channel?

Holly Willoughby is also a good presenter - but I wouldn't be impressed if she was on the presenting team either.
