Two pub fighters. Babic is better, he's not that fat and he shows at least a slight resemblance of a boxer. Butterbean would be battered.

Don't think I seen anything on Babic, but Eric Esch was better than people give him credit for. No, he wasn't anywhere close to the top 10 or 20 or 30 but he was a top 50 heavyweight at one point.

And in the end he got the respect of Larry Holmes, who once described him as a "fat slob impersonating a fighter." He was a solid journeyman, and maybe at the peak of his abilities he was a trial horse.

Unfortunately there was more money in being the "King of the Four Rounders," than trying to climb up the ladder. So he basically stagnated and plateaued, but I can't really blame the man because he became a worldwide celebrity for just doing four round matches.

If I had to lean towards a winner I would say Butterbean by decision.

I kinda think butterbean chins him. He got a tiny bit staggered by bennet a guy whos record suggest hits like a fly weight. I think babic not stepping up right show a lack of confidence in his chin. Would be a fun watch.

I'd say that Butterbean was definitely top 20 at a certain point, but he just kept gaining weight, and that was his undoing/downfall. When he weighed 300-305,he was flat out Dangerous, and Very Capable to flatten out Many Good Heavyweights during that time period.

In the Holmes fight,BB weighed in at 334. He was allready a good 30 lbs over his ideal fighting weight. He still displayed a surprisingly fast jab in that bout,and obviously the deceptively fast punch flurries.

nah, never as high as top 20 , was always considered a sideshow and his matchmaking told the story of what his handlers thought his level was. albeit he actually did put together some decent combos and had some spring to his shots, the fight vs bart gunn showed that he was still good enough to ice guys who werent genuine boxers
