Diminished Sky TV Boxing Catalogue

Post by bbandit »

Has anyone noticed how hard it is to search for boxing via the Sky box. The boxing section use to have fights on demand section, which you could easily search on recent fights to download and watch.
Even doing a regular search for Joshua v Whyte or even against Klitschko is difficult.
The BT Sport section is hard to find so even if you try doing a search for Tyson Fury v Wilder you'll find it eventually, though its hidden away.
Do i need to be more tech savvy, or are other folks struggling too??

Alas, they've gone. I noticed they had a June 30th expiry date on them which I guess is when Matchroom's contract finished. Even stuff like the Golden Contract fights have been taken off. There are a few fights under 'Fight Night Classics' but these 'classics' include Matchroom's WBU and IBO title fights from the early 2000s.

Still awaiting news of Sky's big Boxxer launch. Was meant to be 28th of August? They have some English title eliminator on Boxrec.

I do wonder are they showing the Jake Paul Woodley, Tommy Fury card because they are giving it good coverage on Sky Sports and their social media.

Brook Khan may also end up on Sky Box office

I think you’re right re: Khan/Brook being on Sky.

Sky seem to be reporting on all boxing at the moment - except Matchroom’s!

Yeah the vibes I got from Hearn were Sky will pay more for Brook Khan and they want the highest bidder. But the actual staging of the show could be a nuisance with no obvious promoter on Sky.

Yeah they have drastically decreased on matchroom stuff but did have articles on Galahad and Leigh Woods wins. Still have the darts with Matchroom and Joshua's PPV so probably still reasonable terms.

I've no idea why they are bigging up Tommy Fury in a nothing fight and Jake Paul if they don't have it. Assumed it would be BT if Warren's Birmingham card same night. I've no interest in the Jake Paul thing anyway.

Sky's next boxing promotion will probably be Eduardo himself doing AJ-Usyk PPV! Don't hold out high hopes for the Boxxer crowd. Think they've signed Richard Riakhpore and the Avenesyan fight is pencilled in for October. Other than that, pretty bare cupboard.

Sky NZ is showing the fight camp cards.
The Wood Galahad card was delayed 12 hours, but the one this weekend is live.
And yes we have DAZN, or DuZN as its called down here.
So WTF Sky? :maybe:

Few guys on off the hook forum done some investigating on Ben Shalom, doesn't look very promising. Sky must have panicked throwing in with him.

Is the NZ Sky owned by Comcast like UK Sky?

Aussie Sky is still Murdoch but not UK Sky

That might be it.
Weird though eh?

I turned on the darts on sky the other day and hilariously it was none other than Adam Smith, and literally the first thing I heard was “look at the respect between these two!!”

They need to get their money’s worth from him - he’ll be on a very good salary so they’ll try him out on several sports and see what happens.

Yeah it's a pretty good card too so it will dominate. I mean it's 2.5 weeks out I wonder will that Boxxer show happen.

100%, they've been using him on the darts for a start as he seems to have an interest. But with diminished boxing output he'll be on too much coin to let him sit and scratch his ass in an office.
