Tyson Fury vs. Deontay Wilder III - October 9, 2021
Re: Tyson Fury vs. Deontay Wilder III - October 9, 2021
Also, how long has Fury been in camp!!?
The COVID thing was bullshit down to U.K. fans not being able to get into US, that’s meant him being in camp another 2 months

'heavyweight boxing, anything can happen'
Re: Tyson Fury vs. Deontay Wilder III - October 9, 2021
I agree totally but I hope to God Fury destroys him ... again.
I have no desire at all to see Wilder v Fury IV never mind V or VI.

So you want to see it repeated ad nauseam do you? I just want to see both of them fight someone else in the top 5 or 6.
I was once a potentially massive fan of Wilder but I am now heartily sick of his antics.

not saying wilder hasn't any chance.
like 1:1 000 000 and that's generous.
wilder himself would probably be all excited bout those odds, like " yeah baby!!!! i knew it! there's a chance for me to get revenge!! bombsquaaaaad!!!!"

I couldn't care less who won. I'm just commenting on your hatred of DW.
Re: Tyson Fury vs. Deontay Wilder III - October 9, 2021
Well I don't like him I'll give you that. I reserve my hatred for those far more deserving than a boxer that I'm not fond of.
Re: Tyson Fury vs. Deontay Wilder III - October 9, 2021
I can’t go ahead and give AJ these kinds of props that you have. As champion, I am not impressed at all with the quality of his defenses overall. Not a Canelo fan but this kids assembling a hit list unlike anything that I’ve been alive to witness. But I digress and acknowledge your brightest point which is basically what we have to all admit, this thing is broken and there’s no warranty or service plan.Thomastearns wrote: ↑31 Jul 2021, 04:43caldo2025 wrote: ↑31 Jul 2021, 02:39 Who are we kidding? This whole lawsuit debacle has screwed us all of seeing the fight that we all wanted to see: AJ vs. Tyson. The odds to me are low that both guys end up winning these fights. Let’s be honest here. AJ’s probably got the worst chance of winning. AJ’s new style of scientifically winning fights on the strengths of his boxing skills against Usyk? Come on. What a horrible fight to have to fight after millions were on the table to fight Tyson. Now he gets a tougher fight for peanuts compared to what he had? Don’t diminish that factor when it comes to a boxer’s psyche.
Tyson is back to his postponement routine which means he’s either back to snorting everything in his cupboard or not into it mentally. Either way, odds are that we aren’t going to be seeing the Tyson from 2nd Wilder fight. I think both fights are very losable and that not only equates to big money thrown away but an epic heavyweight fight us fans might never get to see. That is very possible and sad.
This is what's likely to happen, and keep on happening as long as the elite boxers are seen as valuable properties and agents.
They're being protected and harvested for maximum financial return by promoters and agents who seem to think they're working in the entertainment industry and not in sports.
They seem to be acting under the old Hollywood principle on never allowing their biggest moneymakers to appear in the same film / ring.
Championship boxing is hardly a sport today and these people are all responsible. The promoters, the agents, the sanctioning bodies and in far too many cases, the boxers themselves. Yes, you Mr Crawford.
However, ultimately, it's the paying fans that are responsible for this sporting shambles. If they really want to watch true sporting contests then they should cancel their subscriptions to this money transferring passing under the guise of competitive sport.
"AJ’s probably got the worst chance of winning. AJ’s new style of scientifically winning fights on the strengths of his boxing skills against Usyk?"
This might be unwise but isn't this what true champions are supposed to do? AJ was never one to run from the best boxer in the division or ignore his mandatories.
To Anthony Joshua's credit, he's been the only HW beltholder that's been acting like a true champion, staying active and taking on all comers.
The others are either canny fork tongued businesmen (Fury) or just hopelessly lost misguided/ manipulated puppets (Wilder).
Once this Fury / Wilder pantomime is finally over,
perhaps then we can hope to see the likes of Joe Joyce, Dillian Whyte, Daniel Dubois, Andy Ruiz, Michael Hunter, Filip Hrgovic etc all getting their opportunity for a crack at the title.
Unless of course Tyson Fury wins and AJ doesn't.
Then all bets are off - once again.
We fans are our worst enemies because we will continue under this putrid status quo and keep paying monthly subscriptions even though we haven’t had a God damn fight worth staying awake for in a long time. It’s freaking Summer and I can’t even remember the last fight that made me start rubbing my hands about at the beginning of the week. You know the type of fight I’m referring to as I can see how passionate you are about the sport.
Buddy, I’m all for fixing it but it’s so damn f’d in too many directions right now. The fix is doing exactly what you said to do, fans need to stop buying this crap. Futility. Impossible. I’d join the bandwagon but there are too many dopes ignorantly thinking that this product is entertaining some how. Honestly, I’ve never been THIS disappointed about a year in boxing. 2021 may be the year that has me become a casual fan.

I’ve got two tickets but US won’t let U.K. people into the country
Great move buying the tickets before checking travel restrictions

Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder have both been removed from the rankings, despite the fact that at least one year of their inactivity could easily be explained due to inactivity.

Other fighters have been dropped too, such as Sergey Kovalev.

Re: Tyson Fury vs. Deontay Wilder III - October 9, 2021
I don't know what BoxRec's policy is toward inactivity, but if they see it as I do that it makes no sense to drop a fighter who has a confirmed fight on the calendar, then the timing of this might suggest they don't expect this third fight to go ahead in October.
Edit: it's just occurred to me its exactly eighteen months of inactivity. I'll put my cloak and dagger back in the closet. As you were.

Are people keen for this fight? I’m not I have it 2-0 and so this fight for me either means it goes 3-0 or 2-1 which dosent mean a lot (but officially 1-1-1) so we gotta see it again…
Keen for the card though, lots of fun heavyweight match ups.

How many other high profile fighters have had such pointless trilogies?
