True. But if it sells 600k it does $27m. I am not buying it for $80, on principle. I would definitely by it for $45. I am one of many, IMO.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑11 Aug 2021, 12:40It’s all about the revenue though isn’t it.
Let’s say for argument sake, the fight does 300k buys. At $80 it’s £24m Revenue.
They lower it to $45 a pop, might do an extra what? 200k buys? At 500k buys it does $22.5m..

Thurman did around 450k I think..
Both at the high price PPV.
Ugas isn’t a big name at all, it’s Pac that sells this fight,
Maybe you’re right, it could do more than 500k at a lower price, but they’re not gonna take that risk. Worse case, this does around 300k at $75..

Why should I hate the fellow? Acctually I sympathize with him. All this hype and his legacy will be "A guy that didn't want to fight the best fighter in his division and then had to withdraw from Pacmans retirement fight". Guy is never going to accomplish any above 147. Btw it's Crawford that won't fight unless it's 50-50. It's about $ not fear of each other. I'm pissed at both guys for not fighting though. Taking on Danny Garcia first fight back takes some balls, not knowing how he could perform. Manny picked him by the way, so he's not cherrypicking.
Being a huge drainer for 147 I predict he'll do well when he moves up. He has great skills, and will be stronger. We'll see if I'm right. He's as game as they come in my opinion.

Thanks man! So how do you become a Buttboy for another grown man like Spence? Did he give you an Hjob over the pants or something? What’s the infatuation here bc you spout off like I insulted your sister. Relax will ya? Just avoid reading them if they bother you so much that it forces you to react like this. I’ve never read your posts unless forced to reply to them so trust me, it’s very easy to do if you apply yourself. I don’t care to have to read your opinion of me or to take time out of my day to even consider you in any way. I do t care for your writing and you clearly go out of your way to attack mine so just go to the next one brother. It’s so easy to do. It’s a boxing message board dude, put things into perspective. I have to think that you have better things to exert your efforts into. Chill man. Just an angry opinion I had in the heat of the moment but no one died. Just skip me. Let’s use this one as your sparring session for the big fight which is to ignore me. How’s your eyes? Good? It is true, as adislav pointed out, that I should have just let your literally brain dead opinion speak for itself, as I have many times before when you have dropped your pants in public drooling. Ugas is an elite quality boxer. I think he beats Manny 100% but he will probably lose on the cards. Just like Porter.

of course pac could beat him. could easily go the other way too though.

we rarely get it, especially in 'big' fights. it's sad.
i doubt ugas can get a decision vs manny.

Credit where credit is due, good post, I agree.Enlightened-One wrote: ↑11 Aug 2021, 05:32 Ugas is a seriously risky banana skin for Pacquiao.
Yordenis has got a completely different fighting style than the fighter Manny was originally preparing to face. It will be very hard to adapt at this late stage of training camp.
Ugas’ loss in the Porter fight was very controversial. Yordenis managed to do something in that bout, which most fighters couldn’t, by having the physicality to force Shawn to compete on the back foot.
Yordenis Ugas is a top-five welterweight and he’s definitely capable of scoring the upset.
The one thing I will say though, is that his work is often underappreciated by the judges.
I’ve seen him win fights he completely dominated, but was only deemed the victor by split decision.
I have also seen him lose fights that could have gone either way, with the scorecards wrongly suggesting he was absolutely dominated.
The one thing I will say though, if the Filipino hasn’t significantly declined since the Thurman bout, then I feel the Pacquiao-Ugas fight will almost certainly go to a decision.
Yordenis Ugas has only scored one legitimate KO stoppage within the last five years.
And from memory, I think Pacquiao has only stopped one opponent by KO within the last twelve years.
Prediction time (based on the assumption Manny hasn’t declined much since he fought Thurman): Pacquaio defeats Ugas by a controversial and an excessively wide margin on the judges scorecards, with the official scoring failing to reflect the true competitiveness of the bout.

The Gilroy, California native returned from a 2017 defeat to Omar Figueroa Jr. to win his last three contests. After stopping Adam Mates in December 2018 and Hevinson Herrera in March 2019, Guerrero most recently won a unanimous decision over Gerald Thomas in September 2019.

It could've made a case for getting his ass beat. He's like a #4 or 5 welter these days. Maybe lower, because he hasn't fought in over 2 years, and those years between age 40 and 42 could be a period of steep decline.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑10 Aug 2021, 15:22 I feel bad for Pacquaio.

Pacquaio-Ugas Pay-Per-View Price To Remain Same As Cost Of Pacquiao-Spence
Manny Pacquiao’s opponent changed, but the cost to watch his upcoming pay-per-view fight won’t be altered.
BS.com has confirmed through a FOX Sports spokesman that the network’s suggested retail price for the four-fight show headlined by Pacquiao and Yordenis Ugas on August 21 will remain $74.95. Satellite and cable companies can charge more than the price suggested by the distributor of an event, but the cost typically doesn’t fluctuate by more than $5.
The suggested retail price of $74.95 was set when Pacquiao was scheduled to challenge undefeated, unified welterweight champion Errol Spence Jr. It is the same price FOX and Premier Boxing Champions charged for Pacquiao’s last fight – a 12-round, split-decision victory over Keith Thurman in July 2019 – and Showtime and PBC charged for Pacquiao’s points win against Adrien Broner in January 2019.
The Cuban-born Ugas (26-4, 12 KOs), the WBA “super” welterweight champion, officially replaced Spence as Pacquiao’s opponent on Tuesday. Though a world champion, the lesser-known Ugas isn’t as accomplished or as dangerous as Spence and will make significantly less money for opposing Pacquiao than Spence would’ve earned.
Spence was forced to withdraw from their highly anticipated showdown after a tear to his right retina was detected during an extensive eye exam Monday in Las Vegas. The Nevada State Athletic Commission required that test as part of its licensing procedure.
The 31-year-old Spence, of DeSoto, Texas, underwent surgery to repair his injury Wednesday in Dallas. Spence (27-0, 21 KOs), who holds the IBF and WBC 147-pound championships, is expected to make a full recovery and return to the ring at some point in 2022.
Meanwhile, the 42-year-old Pacquiao will attempt to regain the WBA’s legitimate welterweight title a week from Saturday night at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
The WBA stripped Pacquiao (62-7-2, 39 KOs) of its “super” 147-pound championship late in January due to inactivity. The Panama-based sanctioning organization then promoted Ugas from world champion to “super” champion.
Ugas won the WBA’s world welterweight title last September 6, when he beat Abel Ramos (27-4-2, 21 KOs) by split decision in a 12-round fight FOX aired from Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. Miami’s Ugas was supposed to make an optional defense of his championship against Argentina’s Fabian Maidana (18-1, 13 KOs) on the Pacquiao-Spence undercard, but Maidana suffered a cut in sparring that caused him to withdraw from that 12-round bout.
An appreciative Ugas gladly replaced Spence on the same day he learned that Maidana was injured.
FOX’s four-fight show August 21 also will include a 10-round featherweight fight between the Philippines’ Mark Magsayo (22-0, 15 KOs) and Mexico’s Julio Ceja (32-4-1, 28 KOs). Another 10-round bout between two former WBC welterweight champions from California, Robert Guerrero (36-6-1, 20 KOs) and Victor Ortiz (32-6-3, 25 KOs), also will be part of FOX’s pay-per-view telecast.
FOX’s fourth pay-per-view fight for this altered card, Carlos Castro-Oscar Escandon, was announced Thursday. Showtime was supposed to televise their 10-round featherweight fight August 28, but Phoenix’s Castro (26-0, 11 KOs) and Colombia’s Escandon (26-5, 18 KOs) were moved to this card because super middleweight contender David Benavidez contracted COVID-19 and that card was postponed Wednesday.

You failed the only test provided to you because you’ve got that “I’ve GOT to get the last word in at all times even if I’m chasing a guy on a pathetic Boxing chat site”. Well done. You must have slept the sleep of kings last night. I feel for you and well, just you because I’m certainly sure that there’s no Mrs. Ironhead due to the childish ways that you conduct yourself. I love how you quote one of your loser buddies here who is just as much a C. Be a man and stand alone you pathetic piece of….no, not going to do it. See? That’s called restraint. Be the better man for once and see how it feels. Besides I thought you and asdgk were the same idiot. Still not sold.ironbeard wrote: ↑12 Aug 2021, 20:10caldo2025 wrote: ↑12 Aug 2021, 16:33Thanks man! So how do you become a Buttboy for another grown man like Spence? Did he give you an Hjob over the pants or something? What’s the infatuation here bc you spout off like I insulted your sister. Relax will ya? Life is too short to pop off on every wrong post made. 80% of my posts and predictions have been wrong for the last 10 years. Good? Ok, let’s see how it goes on your first chance to ignore me here.I haven’t read one of your putrid posts in years, but true to form, you leap out of the shadows like an exhibitionist and go full Monty. Infatuation? You expressed your opinion, that Spence is a “pussy” for dropping out of a fight that would have been his biggest payday and most important win so far in his career with a detached retina.
It is true, as adislav pointed out, that I should have just let your literally brain dead opinion speak for itself, as I have many times before when you have dropped your pants in public drooling. But, this time you elicited a response, in the form of my opinion, which still stands, but will not be repeated here.
GFY.
Ok, here’s your second try at shutting your mouth. Go! And good luck to you and your…well, good luck to you.

So is Bhop a loser too because he also questioned this Spence situation too? Lol. Of course you will blab back that he can and I can’t make the same point which totally makes you continue to look like the dunce in every exchange. I’m sure bhop has more insider intel than I do so I’m sure there’s a lot more smoke to this fire. Either way, it legitimizes my point and loses it for yours. You see, I don’t just read stuff like you dopes and assume that it’s true in the most crooked sport in the history of the world. Open your eyes, ya dope. Don’t believe everything.
