Johnston was pure quality in the late 90s early 00s. Beat James Page and Sharmbah Mitchell before he was even a lightweight champion. Might well have beaten Jose Luis Castillo in their first fight (decision going Castillo's way), though I felt Castillo won the rematch (a draw).
Anyone think he can beat harris, if harris gets his head together? they're fighting at welterweight i think
29 july Stevie Johnston takes on Vivian Harris

Surely Stevey is on the slide, Harris has become underated fast, he has faults but could be a great Stewart fighter and has some quality wins. Something went wrong against your name sake, hes a threat to anyone - thats why Cotto, Mayweather and Hatton all chose not to enforce their mandatory positions. Beating Ukral, Hurtado, Mbaiye is no joke.

probably can't go much further than he has been going. but maybe he's refreshed, you never know. this guy was beating James Page (future WBA welter champ) & S Mitchell before he even won the lightweight crown. Underrated fighter was Johnston. Maybe he has one great effort left. He's always been very slick, but being that he was so short he had to trade too much. That and his tendency to mark up really made him a bit vulnerable even at his best, hence why he lost those v close fights to Lazcano & Castillojamesmcdonnell wrote:Stevie Johnson is going to get splattered I fear.
He has the style & abiity to baffle harris, though

He looked a bit past it against Lazcano, and his lack of physical strength could prove his undoing against the magnificently built Harris who is a pretty fearsome light welterweight. Harris knows that if he loses now it's pretty much game over, so should be in good shape, which spells disaster for Johnson unless he can find a pretty big performance at the tail end of his career.
Jonston always seemed to be a small Lightweight.... thats going against him.
However, I've seen his last fight and he looked okay. If Harris is as poor as he was vs Urkal 1 and vs Maussa - I think he can win.
Johnston looked faded vs Lazcano - but Lazcano is a good fighter in his own right.
The Harris of Urkal 2 though was a much better fighter.
