Can the Ingle sons fight (street and / or boxing)? Did they ever box?

Post by JamesPhilips »

Dominic and the other brother both look pretty hard and are big. Did either box? And are they handy?

I heard rumours one of the two battered Rob MacCraken

I’d be stunned if they didn’t have at least a few amateur bouts. They grew up in a gym.

Don’t think John Ingle looks very intimidating at all , Dom pumped up but don’t think either had much amateur experience , Rob Mc would take care of both of them if he wanted to but seems a pretty chilled out guy nowadays .

Rob Mc had a hell of a rep when he was younger, his brothers too, a lot of it was to do with the football thing.
The old bill used to send riot squads to his fights just in case!!
Speaking to him as a bloke he was always real relaxed and a nice bloke, a bloke with nothing to prove.

Dom had a good record in the juniors and an even better one on the cobbles.

There's something intimidating about Dom. He's got the singing thing which is a bit odd and he's ballooned up from weight lifting. He seems like a nice guy whenever interviewed, one of the more honest guys you'll see interviewed. I can't imagine him being aggressive which is why If he absolutely lost the plot and came at me aggressively I'd sh*t myself. Just one of those guy where you get the feeling that if he lost the plot and was coming after you the best course of action would be to sprint out of there ASAP. There's no way he doesn't know how to box.

Seems legit. He must be able to fight! Plus being big. He’s getting rid of John Fury and Micky Theo. Let’s make this happen

No personal knowledge but he has a reputation as a hard man.

He doesn’t take shit from anyone. He’s loaded & doesn’t give up his time to anyone unless they’re 100% committed.

He’ll miss out on pay days like Brook against Crawford & Saunders recent fights because he won’t train them unless they commit to a full camp in Sheffield on his terms.

I've seen a couple of clips in the past on Liam Williams instagram of him and Dominic wrestling on the gym floor :maybe:

Yes, and he always wins those. He certainly knows how to grapple, which is a handy skill to know (and not very common in the UK unlike the US where wrestling is a big part of school sports).

I remember Bellew giving Dom stick on twitter about "Ingle's Pringles" and Dom gave him stick back. No fear in him.

I like Dom, a no nonsense but fair guy and dedicated as anything to exercise.

Anyone know about their amateur background? Some say they boxed amateur?

I imagine Brendan steered his sons away from actual boxing esp Pro, because maybe they weren’t skilled enough and Brendan knows the pitfalls and dangers of boxing more than anyone else. So they became trainers. More money less risk longer career. But yeah I would imagine Dominic is a straight talker, takes no sh1t, and likely is bloody hard and strong (although I belive he’s no stranger to the odd PED.) I like the way he largely stays out of the limelight.

Dixon is a strange character. Likes to pretend he was a boxing prospect when he was awful. Looks very strong though. I didn’t like him as an editor on BN, and whilst he talks too much about himself, I’ve read and enjoyed a couple of his books. I especially like the one where he travelled accords the US and I’m thinking of buying the CTE one

I already did. His brother used to spar Naz a lot when Naz was a kid.

Also what is Dominic’s official role? Is he just a trainer or does he manage? He has no listing on boxrec though it doesn’t list trainers. Alma, Brendan and John are all there.

I was told it many years ago. I can't remember the exact figure so I'm not going to guess.
