Gallen's Nostradamus quip that he would force Huni out of the Olympics with a broken arm has come true.
Today it has been reported that the Heavyweight gold medal hope, Justis Huni will miss the Tokyo Olympics after injuring his hand in last week’s win over Paul Gallen.
The injury is believed to have occurred in the opening round and could see the 22-year-old out of the ring for five months.
I said it to someone before the fight , that it was absolutly stupid to take that fight , he would probably get head butted , suffer a cut or something and ruin his chances at a Olympic medal ,,, seems i was proven correct OR and it is a possibility , if like me you see conspiracy theores and little yellow men under every bed , , well its possible after his performance against a 39 year old rugby player who only boxes has a second sport he took up late in life , that now they relize he just might get his ass handed to him at the Olympics and the end result is he will not draw ppv money in Aust .
So go the Conor Benn route , don't challenge for titles against someone who will hit back and defend it , just go fight 4 times a year , against older seen better days guys
He has done well as an amature, and would of been odds on to medal. and even if you lose in the ams you can just blaim the shitty amature style of boxing...
Seems rich that your accusing him of trying to take easy fights when he has arguably the one of the best first 5 fights of any recent pro heayweights, especialy for a very young heavyweight (yoka had a better first 5, hrgovic mabey but i dont think so, both of them were 4 or so years older and olympic medalists turning pro...).
Firstly i m not accusing him of anything ,But what i am saying is just prior to olympics it was silly fighting Gallon ,, wether he would of won a medal we will never know, but he was Australias best chance in years ,, so risking an injury against Gallon was silly,,, he had a good ameteur style and thats why he was impressive in the ameteurs and a chance of a medal ,,, but coming out to fight in the pro,s has,nt done him any favors has it, he went 10 rnds with a 39 year old rugby player,,, now he,s injured so was i correct or wrong saying it was silly his medal chances are gone along with the MASSIVE amount of money he would of made if he won gold ,,,, So what does he do now first get jhis injuries fixed , then what , he can go overseas and try to be a better pro because going 10 rnds with Gallon does,nt say a lot ,, or he can stay in Oz , try to be an Oz star and a ppv boxer ala Mundine ,, Green and even Gallon ,
Wether or not his first five fights wlere easy or hard in your or my view is irreLEVENT with his ameteur experience , and coming straight into the pro,s being a top 10 ameteur in the world he shouls always be beating the guys he fought,,, to me he was never gonna lose any of them fights he was just to good , but what the problem was always going to be was training to fight pro,s over 8 or 10 rnds was never gonna be good prep for fighting 3 rnds in ameteur boxing , besides other stuff the risk of getting injured was always there and too big a risk , And i believe he,s now injured is,nt he, has,nt he got injured hands , why could it be a result ohf him changing his style trying to sit on punches and hit harder i dont know you tell me ,,, Tell me whats your view on him taking these pro fights , because now he,s out of the olympics, and not excatly setting the world on fire in the pro,s , like i said 10 rnds to take catre of a 39 year old rugby player with what no ameteur experience and only a handful of pro fights against very limited opponents , I wish him luck but the olympic dream has gone and with it the big money a medal would of got him
