Predictions for Josh Warrington vs Mauricio Lara 2
Arijan Goricki
Croatian featherweight prospect
"My thoughts is that Warrington was looking for future fights and overlooked Lara. This time Warrington will be more determined and focused on the task ahead.
I see a UD by Warrington."
Tim Rickson
BBN Editor
"The result of the first fight was a huge shock to everyone. Lara was an unknown fighter, who had never fought outside of his local area before, never fought for a title, had two losses on his ledger already... there were just so many factors that led to Warrington and all of us fight fans mistakingly overlook him that night.
I remember straight after the fight believing that were a few reasons that led to Warrington's defeat, such as overlooking his opponent, the lack of crowd spurring him on etc. Although I do think he will be refreshed and better than the last fight, I also belive that he will feel the power from the Mexican again, especially with his busy style sitting on the chest of his opponents.
I'm hopeful for a points win from Josh, but I feel that Lara's confidence, knowing he has his number and the power to hurt him, that a big shot will land and trouble Josh again. I'll go with a Warrington points win, but I'll be fearful of another Lara stoppage all the way throught the contest."

I doubt he'll ever beg Barry for anything! He's only 1,500 tickets away from a sell out now so still seems very popular. I'd quit if I was him if I lost.CaptainSpacerod wrote: ↑16 Aug 2021, 19:07If Josh loses this he’ll be begging Barry for a fight. I doubt Josh will go back down the ibf route no matter who wins it. If its Barry it would be a very hard sell and I don't think Josh would want to give him another payday.

A farewell win at Leeds Arena. Anyone who will put on a good show, so that rules Barry out.CaptainSpacerod wrote: ↑17 Aug 2021, 15:37Who should he fight if he loses ?mickey1975 wrote: ↑17 Aug 2021, 07:52I doubt he'll ever beg Barry for anything! if you're taking the missus, treat her to the Wilson pork pie and mushies. Pisses all over
Carr's pies.
It's a compact ground so the view from the south stand will be sound as a pound.
It's a pity they didn't open the end terracing, that would have been a laugh. Suppose
they'll put the big screen there.

Get your Josh Warrington tickets now
There are less than two weeks to go until World class boxing comes to Emerald Headingley for the very first time and there is still time left to make sure you get your ticket to be there on a historic night.
The epic showdown between Mauricio Lara and Josh Warrington will take place at Emerald Headingley Stadium on Saturday September 4, live worldwide on DAZN.
It will be the first time that Emerald Headingley has hosted world championship boxing with the co-main event also featuring undisputed Lightweight World Champion Katie Taylor, who puts all her belts on the line against IBF Mandatory Challenger Jennifer Han.
‘The Leeds Warrior’ (30-1, 7 KOs) was floored and ruthlessly finished by Mexico’s Lara (22-2, 15 KOs) in a sensational knockout loss at The SSE Arena, Wembley in February that put a massive dent in the former IBF Featherweight World Champion’s unification plans.
Warrington endured a stunning upset defeat as he was dropped and nearly stopped in the fourth round before ‘Bronco’ sent him crashing to the canvas again in the ninth to end the 30-year-old’s unbeaten record.
The upset-of-the-year contender sent shockwaves through the 126lbs division and now Warrington will look to exact revenge in front of a capacity crowd at the home of the Leeds Rhinos in the biggest fight of his career.
Undisputed Lightweight ruler Taylor (18-0, 6 KOs) defends her WBC, WBA, IBF, WBO and Ring Magazine crowns against her latest Mandatory Challenger Han (18-3-1, 1 KOs) in the co-main event, another huge stage for the best in women’s boxing.
Tickets are priced £40, £60, £80, £100, £150 and £300 VIP and are available via StubHub now.
If you are looking to make it an extra special night we still have hospitality places available which you can find out more details about by calling 0113 2033 222 or emailing [email protected]
Will be a little more noise the next time I walk to the ring, that you can be certain on…

Come on Josh!
Now I just have to figure out how to watch this.![[icon_knockout.gif] :KO:](./images/smilies/icon_knockout.gif)
Cheap tickets, if I was in Blighty, I'd definitely consider going along in the cheap seats.

60% a high rate for Lara ko! I’m surprised by this…. Didnt Warrington have Covid?

After the Lara fight:
"The 30-year-old fractured his jaw, perforated an ear drum and damaged his shoulder in the fight, but he's still in good spirits
So hopefully he will be all good for the rematch

Im just wondering why the bookie odds are offering 7/4 on Lara stoppage and 5/4 for the win. Boxrec polls are usually a very good indicator of outcome. So seems to me like Lara by stoppage is a good bet.

Yes the referee and corner let that beating go on far too long, I don’t think Josh’s punch resistance will be the same..could go the same way I fear, unless Josh boxes safety first like big Josh did against Ruiz. Not sure the Leeds warrior can contain himself from a punch up though,

Warrington gonna have to bring his A game because it looked like Lara had his number last time out, hurt early doors and never really properly recovered, showed massive stones though and has done again by taking immediate rematch, he's gonna have to stay switched on, I know Lara and Selby are totally different kettles of fish but Warrington is gonna have to be as measured as he was the night against Selby, no silly mistakes and recklessness, Lara will fight same way as last time no doubt so he'll know what to expect
I think Warrington can ride out a few storms to win a deserved decision, he knows he can be hurt

Re: Josh Warrington vs. Mauricio Lara II - 4 September 2021
Very interesting this one is'nt it , I like Warrington but was it a case he took Lara lightly got hurt early and never recovered , which can and does happen ,, OR was it a case Lara was just too tough , Josh could'nt hurt him but Lara hit too hard and could hurt Josh .
Don't know but looking forward to finding out , and really this is what you need for boxing too go ahead , Not pillocks like Benn being brought up with easy fights on the undercard , ready to step in and take the main event if warriors like Josh fail

Lara knows he can hurt Josh.
He won’t be holding back.
He’s gonna come in to this with more confidence than he had before.

Genuinely intrigued by this fight.
I think Warrington comes out firing hard and will lose heart when the same Lara turns up after a few rounds.
I see Josh’s corner pulling him out after 6.

I hope Josh wins, most people are tipping him to lose it seems. Takes balls doing immediate rematch should be applauded. He was very under par last time hoping for improvement.
