The Froch v Groves fights and the build ups of both fights had so many great moments. Groves really bossed the mind games in the first fight his calm exterior and the way he dealt with the press conferences and press obligations was first class. One thing that really sticks in my head is the ring walks and pre fight announcements.

I can't remember what music Groves came out to but once he was in the ring he stood motionless facing Froch's corner. Froch then came out to whats the story by Oasis and the crescendo to the chorus hit just as he was getting in the ring. It was a fantastic ring entrance, the crowd were going potty and it's a shame I can't seem to find any footage at all of the pre fight online now. One of Froch's brothers walked right into Groves's corner with one of his belts held aloft but Groves and Fitzpatrick didn't flinch at all. It was literally those two and the bucket man just stood facing down about 20 members of Froch's entourage. Round 1 then started and well, the rest is history isn't it.

I remember what an absolute tool Lee Froch was. Groves would’ve laid him straight in a second or so.

Round 1 then started and well, the rest is history isn't it.

Groves was sensational for the first 5 or so rounds. Even Watt was praising him! Easily one of the best showings I've ever seen from a British boxer. Alas, he never had world-class stamina.

I remember being in the crowd at the Ally Pally waiting for Nigel Ben to make his ring entrance, it was during his rise to the big time, tearing his way up the division like a scaled down Mike Tyson..when you heard the ominous chimes of Big Ben and saw him making his way to the ring in black, it felt primeval, the hairs were standing up on the back of your neck and felt like you were about to witness an execution.

Benn’s rise was almost too fast - he shouldn’t of been fighting semi world class operators like Reggie Miller and Fermin Chirino after 10–11 completed months as a pro. It took Mark Breland and Roy Jones years after the Olympics to be facing the same men.
