A few young lads at work said, what a great fight!

I just can't understand the hype around it all. Jake Paul this, Jake Paul's next opponent etc. WTF is the world coming to?

I know he did pay extra out of his pocket.

Fury got paid $722k?! For a four rounder? And Baranchyk got 90 grand?

Come one surely they didn't need to pay Tommy that much to get him on the bill... 50k would've been paying way over the top. What has Tommy earned before per fight 5k max?
cant be fornicating right that surely?

Looking at Really Nice Derek's Twitter feed, it seems like he's a cheeky chappy who likes putting stuff out like this, sitting back and watching everyone believe him!
He once suggested that 1.9M tuned into to a Tommy Fury fight on BT when the average was 58k!

Thanks for the clarity. Idiot post though. I would certainly like to see the real figures. This guy obviously enjoys trolling Fury.

high tower 1 wrote: 30 Aug 2021, 04:57 So what’s the story. Are these MMA guys that bad at boxing or is Jake Paul a lot better than expected ??
Jake is incredible..., for a YouTuber !
He has the best coaches, gym, sparring etc. and you can't say he's a BAD fighter - he isn't.
He's naturally strong, got quick hands and he's learnt boxing.

Just for 'as a real boxer' he's shit.
If he was being featured on say a FWank undercard against some 3-79-4 type guys you'd say, "meh - he's all right. maybe a British Title if he's matched well and keeps learning".

Impressive in a way what he's done - he can just about squeak past a smaller, older, UFC legend over 8 rounds.
The decision was fair.

British Title? He'd be demolished in short order by any British pro welterweight or above.

FFS, he looked terrible. Similar to what you see on Tough Man shows. Lucky the other bloke was also awful too or Paul would have been smashed to a pulp.

Of course he would.
But in 5 years time if/when he’s 28 and 18-1-1 or something ?
Why not ?

I mean, it’s not going to happen, because that fight made him realise how hard it is - and he sounded like he wants to quit.

I kind of agree with what you are saying, he isn't bad and he has thrown a lot of money with the training and the top class sparring - he could finagle to a 15-0 record and a shot at the NABF title - it's not like he has to do the doors at night to keep the wolf from the door

His problem the other night was the eight rounds, he isn't ready for them, this is a guy who didn't have an amateur bout - if that fight had been four rounds, that would have been a good scrap because Woodley would have steamed into him...
