DAZN price increase
Re: DAZN price increase
DAZN ain't changing f**k all, never mind the game
Not worth 1pound never mind 8,and both prices are nothing to write home about at all, you'd give it in a second for decent service and cards but they're all jank so

at that price I doubt they'll have 10,000 subs, unless they have top class UK footy, it'll die on its arse soon enough.
Re: DAZN price increase
Yeah UK coverage so diluted between Sky/BT and DAZN.

Re: DAZN price increase
The main good thing about streaming services is that it’s so easy to switch on and off subscription whenever you feel like it. I’m going to treat it like I treat Amazon Prime / Now TV / Sky Movies where I’ll sub occasionally if there’s something promising on the upcoming schedule, but will probably stay unsubscribed by default.
Would be absolutely delighted to stay subscribed permanently, if the content is there. But at the moment, it isn’t.

Re: DAZN price increase
I dont get the argument that it's marginalised as it's streaming only - hasn't exactly done Netflix any harm.
Eight quid a month is good for me if they keep the USA shows coming on top of the Brit cards. But I did prefer BocksNayshun and Bunce/Lillis larking about at 4am. DAZN is trying to be slick but boxing fans at that hour are nerds and need to be surrounded by fellow nerds rather than that generic sports broadcast feel they have at the moment.

or even a firestick.
People think app/stream and think they have to get their phone or tablet out.
I have WWE Network, DAZN, Prime, Netflix, Disney+ and a few others, then on top of that the usual BBC, ITV, 4 etc. on my smart tv.. No I don't pay for them all.

Re: DAZN price increase
I've got iView so get all ppvs, sky sports, premier sports , BT, b/nation included in that so I've no qualms about the price hike, we all knew it was coming, I've said in here several times, peak Bocksnation is best thing to happen in my time as a boxing fan so no bother for me, £2 a week to watch a sport I love is a no brainer, I still watch every televised card so I'll get my worth
, maybe if it was a casual then I'd patch it but nah it stays
Some people acting like Smith/Fowler is only fight of the year, boxing fans love a whinge, I thought it was us Scots who were meant to be stingy

Eh so you stream the other stuff, but saying people who actually pay for Sky,BT, PPVs are stingy about a 400% price hike on DAZN with an empty schedule.handsofstone wrote: ↑31 Aug 2021, 12:19 I've got iView so get all ppvs, sky sports, premier sports , BT, b/nation included in that so I've no qualms about the price hike, we all knew it was coming, I've said in here several times, peak Bocksnation is best thing to happen in my time as a boxing fan so no bother for me, £2 a week to watch a sport I love is a no brainer, I still watch every televised card so I'll get my worth, maybe if it was a casual then I'd patch it but nah it stays

You're paying less, it may suit you but rest assured this only the first pay hike. Wait until they actually add other sports.

Boxing fans love a whinge, yeah because we are shat on and milked dry for every penny in a corrupt sport full of conmen and criminals, where the best fighters won't even fight each other and now most fighters won't even fight once a year if that.
Imagine if Man City refused to play Liverpool you reckon football fans would be happy. That happens every week in boxing.

Re: DAZN price increase
Mate this is boxing we all know the script, I've paid for sky sports etc for years, £30 on top of the BT and B/Nation that I already subscribed to, until I got the iView about 3 years ago I bought every single ppv , even the shite Primetime served up, Robert Stieglitz on ppv and the likes, I've paid my dues umpteen times but I also know how the sport works, as does everyone whos a member of a boxing forum, it's got its terrible points, I understand people getting pissed at it, it's not ideal but personally as much as I like football and darts, I can't justify paying for sky sports on top of my regular package especially, as for DAZN, £2 a month was a steal which we all knew wasn't gonna last, the fact that it's less than a tenner still is fine by me, granted we need to see what we get as far as shows are concerned but as you say boxing not like football with set out fixtures but Matchroom are the most active outfit in the business and Golden boy have put on some cracking cards lately so I'm optimistic, peter barlow wrote: ↑31 Aug 2021, 13:44 Boxing fans love a whinge, yeah because we are shat on and milked dry for every penny in a corrupt sport full of conmen and criminals, where the best fighters won't even fight each other and now most fighters won't even fight once a year if that.

Re: DAZN price increase
My view is, is £7-99 value for me. Since I got Dazn I've only watched Bennett v Babic. For £1-99 that was a decent price. I'm going to watch boxing Saturday but after that I have to consider whether I want to carry on paying to watch boxing as and when.

I'm sure a lot of people don't know you can watch the whole cards whenever you want it doesn't have to be live, it's like netflix
Re: DAZN price increase
Anyone know if you cancel now, how long it takes to kick in ?
Still want this weekend then I'm offski .

Re: DAZN price increase
I think DAZN have forgotten that they now expect us to pay 7.99 a month for what we got for free with our monthly SKY money and if you only had SKY for boxing then you can cut it off but not if you want the football etc.

Also there are fights in the archive that I couldn’t see at the time I don’t think (Estrada Cuadras 2)
Re: DAZN price increase
Yes, they charge for that month, and you can watch until the end if the month.
I cancelled, in the second week of the month, they said I could watch until the end of the month. I thought cool, then checked the schedule..... Nothing for the rest of the month

Re: DAZN price increase
It's not so much the cost for me it's simply there isn't anything worth watching the vast majority of the time, everything is available on a stream now anyway, although my interest in boxing is decreasing by the week so I wouldn't watch even for free.
Re: DAZN price increase
This is exactly it. Take October for example, I'd have expected Smith v Fowler to be a normal Sky Sports show.
I used to get this boxing as part of Sky. My Sky bill hasn't gone down since Matchroom left but I'm not cancelling as I watch the football/cricket.
DAZN is now £8 per month and I get one show I would have had included in what I was paying.
I'd happily pay for DAZN (something I didn't have to) if I was getting something I didn't get previously (more shows, shows that would have been PPV) - but I just feel I'm getting my pocket picked for more for the same as I used to get.
If they are going to price it as the same amount as Netflix, Amazon Prime, Disney+ etc they need more content. Most of the archive fights they have on there are on YouTube anyway and I've never been in to watching boxing where I know the result.
I don't think 2/3 UK shows per month (I'd take York Hall/leisure centres) is too much to ask.
Re: DAZN price increase
DAZN price in Italy now shot up as they've picked up Serie A rights whilst quality of the broadcast is apparently crap with buffering etc.
They might keep existing subscribers but will be a job picking up new ones with such a lack of live shows on
