Ray Mercer vs Michael Moorer

I'd pick Mercer by KO in about 8 rounds. Moorer was a better boxer technically, but he had a big problem of a chin. He went life-and-death vs Cooper, had troubles against the likes of Stewart and Botha, wasn't able to finish the job against Foreman. Mercer always kept coming. He was losing against Damiani and Morrison, when he KOed them, he took the best shots of Lewis and gave him a tough fight. Yes, Mercer lost to Holyfield, while Moorer won Evander, but it was known, that Holyfield spent a fight injured against Mike and later he destroyed Moorer in the rematch. Moorer was faster than Mercer and more polished as a boxer, but he wasn't elusive enough. Mercer could be down on points, but eventually he would get to Michael and stop him brutally.

Moorer is one of those guys that it's hard for me to nail down just how good he was. As much as I like Ray Mercer I may lean towards Moorer winning the decision because he was faster and more accurate with his punches.

good matchup, can see it going either way. although mercer had the chin and power, and that is a big danger to moorer, he could also be lacklutre and plodding, and mike had skills

MM would out-box Mercer behind his southpaw jabs, left hands, right hooks and combinations on the outside to take a decision.

Mercer stands a very good chance of knocking out Moorer, however if he fails to do so, and it goes the distance. Moorer is gonna take the decision. Moorer a better overall talent, Mercer a tougher, harder puncher.

This would be a great matchup between 2 of the 90's more underrated guys. Though I will say I think we all admire Ray so much around here that we might overrate him on occasion

Moorer by decision. Ray was very tough, but his power is overrated. And to add to the op, Mercer had hell with Cooper too.
