I can stand this. I do agree though, there needs to be more boxing lined up than there is currently. The Uk shows are very much lacking.

I was just looking at what the cheapest I could get Sky sports to watch on an actual tv and not on a phone and for a rolling monthly deal through now tv at £33.99 a month is where it is at. Unless you want the pleasure of full HD then add another fiver and for the big fights add on 25 quid a time for the PPV charge.

Dazn has a lot of work to do but it really needs to succeed to stop the shit as above happening.

He's lost 2 of his 3, the other loss being stopped by Dave Allen.

I'd actually question if that fight should be sanctioned, Browne should not be in a ring anymore for his own good.

Totally agree. The Cabbage is at (fully fit and in the gym) Dave Allen level right now. And yes, I worry about Lucas.

I know Fightzone gets a bit of stick for uncompetitive cards (not exactly untypical for small hall events) but it would be good if they allied with DAZN. Rather than having 2 separate boxing apps, we could just have the 1 combined app showing a much higher number of shows, and we’d have a good mix of big / small shows on offer.

I’d definitely pay a tenner for both of them combined, but £8 for DAZN + £5 for Fightzone, plus any other Sky / BT / PPV costs is a bit much. And a niche sport like boxing have 2 completely separate streaming apps is frankly a bit ridiculous.

I know what you mean, but surely there’s a bit of an upside? Pretty much the only sport they’ve got in the UK is boxing, so effectively doubling the amount of shows on the platform might make it an easier sell to keep subs going. Admittedly it would probably only attract hardcore fans, but we’re the only ones likely to subscribe for the whole year, I reckon casual fans will treat it like a PPV platform and only subscribe occasionally (and to be fair, that’s what I’m intending to do, unless the schedule starts filling up a bit).

Their business model will be based on 10s of thousands of fans signing up for a particular fight and not cancelling. They won’t make money of the hardcore fans really - they want the sometimes fans to sign up who are usually only interested in the PPV fights and the big names.

I haven’t subscribed to Fight Zone as the vast bulk of the shows and fights are very one sided. Must only be 1 in 25 fights that’s competitive and at a reasonable level. It won’t add subscribers to DAZN but may stop some die hards from cancelling. It probably won’t be worth the additional cost for them.

I think we need to give it a couple of weeks to see the announcements for other DAZN shows but making a comment as to whether it’s worth £7.99/month. What I will say though is that I’d rather watch either this Saturday’s Leeds show or the Liverpool show over all of the fights announced yesterday by Boxxer.

DAZN has had a Setanta feel from the start. They've been burning through cash like nobody's business. Once the money has dried up Eddie will hot foot it back over to Sky as their saviour. No chance his long term future is DAZN, he's just hanging around while there's easy money to be made.

I'm a bit surprised DAZN didn't align their price increase with an announcement of two or three strong cards upcoming, rather than basing it off the back catalogue and chat shows. Some big names hooked on to the announcement would've surely given fans something to look forward to rather than Dillian Whyte vs. TBC a few days later.

My hope is for two good Matchroom UK events and two US/Mexican ect cards in that.

I play it on my IPad and airdrop it to the tv… works great… odd bit of loss of ficus for a few seconds occasionally but then it corrects back to HD quality.

I shall keep it for another month - I won`t be happy with the Dillian Whyte card .. especially if thats as good as October gets.

By my reckoning I'll have it still 1.99 until late October so will be keeping it. The Liverpool card is very good, loads of competitive fights on. This Saturday is a decent card too.

I also like the fact its the same in Euros as Pound which is better value unlike Sky and BT. Sky I dislike as a company.
When you get the poor cards on BT and the underwhelming Boxxer line up, its far superior to any of that so far.
