Re: Chris Eubank Jr. vs. Sven Elbir | Sky Sports - 3 October 2021
Eubank’s his own worst enemy. He’s been moving around from promoter to promoter without ever getting any proper momentum whilst he ended ITV’s aspirations of being a proper PPV provider fairly quickly.
He should have stuck to a promoter/network, made sure he’s kept active and seen what happens. Instead he and his dad always knew best. I’m sure they earned well but I just think he could have done a lot more.

Come on man.
Ever seen him unfit?
Fail to make weight?
The guy works hard, and yes since Groves he hasn't been challenging himself, but he isn't staying out of the gym.

Can’t be easy to find TWO boxers The Iron Lady hasn’t heard of !KiwiRider wrote: ↑27 Aug 2021, 20:12Well heck, if you haven't heard of them, I definitely won't havemargaret thatcher wrote: ↑27 Aug 2021, 20:03 jr and hrgovic both fighting guys ive never heard of, wasserman is revolutionizing the sport right
There are different levels of PPV, some only a few bucks.
As history tells us, revolution isn't necessarily for the betterment.

I know I’m exaggerating and you’re right to say that he lives the life for sure but at this stage of his career and with the profile he has he should be setting his sights higher.
I mean in his whole career how many meaningful fights against live opponents has he had, 2 or 3 ?

True enough but if Jr wants to be remembered as anything more than a pawn in his old man’s never ending quest for the limelight he needs to make fights the fans wanna see - BJS or Ryder or Williams. I wonder whether Chris Sr ever advises him to take tougher fights, the kind of fights that built his legacy.KiwiRider wrote: ↑03 Sep 2021, 19:55Mate, we could say that for 1/2 of the current belt holdersCaptainSpacerod wrote: ↑03 Sep 2021, 19:22I know I’m exaggerating and you’re right to say that he lives the life for sure but at this stage of his career and with the profile he has he should be setting his sights higher.

I know that it's a hard thing to do standing up to parents, but I get the feeling that Eubank Jr listens too much to what his dad thinks. Sr. has, shall we say, an eccentric world view.maverick23 wrote: ↑03 Sep 2021, 12:29 Eubank’s his own worst enemy. Re: Chris Eubank Jr. vs. Sven Elbir | Sky Sports - 3 October 2021
Sven Elbir says Chris Eubank Jr is too rich and settled now, lost the fire
Big-hitting German Sven Elbir is fired up to snatch Chris Eubank Jr’s wealth and success when they clash at the SSE Arena, Wembley on Saturday 2nd October, live and exclusive on Sky Sports.
Hungry challenger Elbir wants the British superstar’s money and fame for himself and believes his fire and desire will see him over overthrow Eubank Jr. in their highly anticipated clash.
Dangerman Elbir, the WBA International Champion and World #15 ranked, poses a serious threat to The Brighton ace with five stoppages coming in his last six fights and in his last fight in July he halted former World title challenger Jose Torres inside four.
“I think at the moment I have much bigger fire in my eyes. We all know Chris Eubank was raised in a good family with money and now he has everything: money, fame, house, car, TV contract. At this point, he has everything and that’s what I want,” he said.
“That’s the reason why the fire in my eyes is much stronger than his. I want to be in the position he is now and I will do anything to get there. I never would say that Chris is not hungry, but I’m different. I grew up in the streets.
“I’m coming from a very hard background. There were times when my family didn’t have money. I really want to get to the top of the world so people can see that this guy came from nothing but now he achieved everything with discipline and hard work.”
Elbir also thinks that training under American legend Roy Jones Jr has actually taken Eubank Jr back a step.
“Eubank has a style where he goes forward, he wants to go to war. Roy Jones was more technical. He was not a fighter like Chris Eubank is. I think together they don’t match. In his last fight, I could see this,” he explains.
“I think he is not the fighter he used to be. In the past he had more spectacular knockout wins. In the last fights he hasn’t. Maybe it’s because of his trainer. Roy Jones is a legend but not every boxer can train with someone like Roy Jones because he has such a unique style.”
“I think that is an advantage for me. Also I’m the underdog, everyone expects me to come to the fight to lose. I hope Chris thinks the same because then he will get a surprise on October 2nd.”

Eubank's career is littered with Sven Elbir's, he seems content to fight no hopers then land a big fight, should be a mismatch, a step back from Morrison this

Muratov is rated 12 at Super Middle in Germany. It's a late change of opponent so they were probably backed into a corner, but he's miles away from giving Eubank a credible test.

Good contingency plan by Wasserman.
At least there’s still a card.
