What I like about this and linked to a comment I made on another thread, is that we haven't had the blow by blow updates of the negotations here. Indeed whilst we knew Catterall was mandatory but hadn't heard anything of formal negotations but it is bang - fight signed (although a bit of a wait till fight date).

I wonder if it’ll be PpV?!

He is barely a consistent domestic title level fighter which he proved in his awful fight against O'Hara Davis and going life and death with the journey man Mckenna, anyone who was going to compete at even euro level let alone world would of dispatched of both those fighters with ease. I can't believe some people on here think this is a good competitive fight , it's one of the biggest mis matches of the last 10 years

Agree, plus the inactivity is nearly worse. You could excuse an easy touch here and there if many weren't fighting once every year at most

“Going to take a while to get back into the kind of shape he was,” said one.

Another added: “Uh oh. Not a good sign.”

A third stated: “He’s got a body like Ben Askren.”

Finally, a comment on Hatton was a firm reminder that Taylor could not afford to do this regularly.

“This is what ended Ricky Hatton’s career earlier than it should. Josh needs to be careful getting too flabby between fights.

“Punch resistance is the first thing to go.”

Taylors body gain is not alarming like Hattons used to be. Hatton used to have to lose 4 stone or something mad

Getting a bit chubby between fights is common, lack of discipline, but still somewhat acceptable. But honestly, that statement about first day back in gym is shocker. Are you telling me that he was not training since Ramirez fight???

Doesn't look like he needs to lose THAT much weight. Fight ain't for another 12 weeks or so.

the smaller guys need to keep their weight in check though.

Not many boxers look after themselves between fights. They're not athletes.

Hopefully he doesn't need to lose that much and loses it gradually and doesn't take anything VADA disapproves off.
