Just curious if anyone else does this. I've been doing this for years and years.
Whenever I want to find a boxer's record I never search by name, I click the current number 1 at their weight class and click through opponents until I get to them using my encyclopedic knowledge of the sport.
I watched some Calzaghe career retrospective on Youtube the other day and wondered after the shellacking that Jeff Lacy took how many fights he had after that and how long until he boxed again.
So I went..
Alvarez
Callum Smith
George Groves
Froch
Ward
Sullivan Barerra
Lacy
There might be a quicker way of doing that one but I always get there in the end. So is this just me?
The answers were 11 fights over almost 9 years and 9 months.

Yeah I do the same, although I’m too modest to say I have an “encyclopedic knowledge of the sport”
Have gone down the rabbit hole plenty of times and ended up looking at some super obscure guys/shows as a result.

Me too but then end up down a rabbit hole of who fought who and forget who I was checking out in the first place lolShirow wrote: ↑12 Sep 2021, 01:11 Just curious if anyone else does this. I've been doing this for years and years.

My encyclopedic knowledge line was just me teeing myself up for someone to get from Canelo to Lacy in 3 or something.Boxerbeetle wrote: ↑12 Sep 2021, 08:46 Yeah I do the same, although I’m too modest to say I have an “encyclopedic knowledge of the sport”Have gone down the rabbit hole plenty of times and ended up looking at some super obscure guys/shows as a result.
And yeah, more often than not I end up seeing names of boxers is forgotten about and seeing what they did with their careers.
