Billy Joe Saunders interview

Post by Controversial »

There is a new interview out with BJS and iFL, the first one I think he’s done since the Canelo loss. I would be surprised if he fought again, he said it was a possibility but likely to a farewell bout rather than a proper return to the world stage. He commented on being pulled from the Canelo fight and seemed to have a dig at Tibbs and said Davison was the one who pulled him out and went to the hospital with him afterwards. Then said the people who were at hospital were the ones he expected to be there. Anyway worth a listen.

Why do you have to mention that? Just comes over as childish and scummy.

Agreed, his 2 world title reigns were awful and it shows the state of boxing that he will go down as a 2 weight world champion, should think himself lucky to have got the Canelo pay day as it was completely against form and made the best of his ability,so well done on that.

Taking the responsibility for the loss like a man, a true champ who's made no excuses or sought to blame those who had his best interests at heart by the throwing them under the bus :salut:

100%,bills doing lots with land and property and all that too, some of the horses he trades are nowhere near cheap

Saw people talk of him being a moody second hand car trader as if hes trying to punt cut and shuts to people,he has his g wagon up for sale not old bits of s**t

Nothing he buys & sells is anywhere near cheap & he had dough before boxing

Was it this interview where he defended what he said about DDD?
Saying his corner stopped the fight whereas Dubois stopped his himself.

Dubois fought with the closed eye for more than 1 round.

I don’t like Saunders, but from his point of view I think Tibbs didn’t do the best thing to protect him straight after the fight.

He gave an interview when Billy was leaving the arena, and disclosed about Billy not giving him
the right signals etc.

It was great for us to get the info, but it threw Billy under the bus.

Sounds like Saunders and Tibbs wanted him to continue but Davison was telling him to stop and he'll get a rematch etc?

Won't be a rematch imo.

As for the Dubois stuff it wasn't long coming back to bite him in the arse. Should have apologised straight, not trying to differentiate that his corner pulled him and Dubois quit.

BJS is unlikley to bother coming back and probably wont be a great loss given his level of activity , and realistically couldnt train anyway until next year even if a fight was on with wankbank which is pretty unimportant in terms of titles etc .
Not sure it would make ppv so the money may not be there .
just another interview for the sake of it .
didnt tell anyone anything they didnt already know .

Yeh, Canelo is more of a one and done type of boxer. He'll beat someone and move on.

Unless there's a lot of controversy and it's very lucrative.

This interview was only released a day ago. He says he was pulled out and could've quit but didn't, whereas DDD quit, not sure he was having a dig at DDD this time though, he acknowledged he was lighter and not being punched by a HW and he is a better mover than Dubois

Talking about DDD he was obv a lot nicer about him than before due to his own experience!

About him fighting again, he admitted that he is not bothered about fighting again, he has made his money, he isn't a spring chicken no more, so it would need to be a money fight for him to come back, no big news there, stop the press fighter comes back for a multi million payday!

He talked about 5 million for Eubank, I'm sure it's a bit of negotiation, but I'm sure he would want at least a couple of million for a big fight and would be happy retiring if that money wasn't there.

The only fight out there for him that could earn Bill the $$ he wants is eubank and the question for Bill is will he be prepared to sell his soul Haye v Bellew style to earn those $$.

Exactly this. It was a bad look from Tibbs, that. I also suspect it influenced Dubois' decision to leave him less than a week later.

You need to trust that your corner is going to put your best interests first. Tibbs was doing the opposite there, and it just stank of Tibbs getting his story in early to cover his own ass.

Agreeing to one more round is quitting when there’s more than one left.

Tibbs opted not to continue with Dubois as his dad was interfering too much. At least that’s what Tibbs said anyway and in fairness I don’t have down as someone who blags.

Saunders is a prime example of what's wrong with boxing now,now way on earth was he a 2 time 'world champion' and seeing him get his face smashed in was the best moment in 2021 for me.
