Mid to high 240's anything less is a risk.

Joshua will probably be around 235, like in the 2nd Ruiz bout. If he plans to box against Usyk, that won't work for him. Usyk has more of class for sure. I don't support an opinion, that the Chisora bout was close and that Chisora was doing good. Usyk started a bit slow, which had been common for him, but in the second half of the fight it looked like Chisora was ready to go and Usyk simply decided to finish without risks. Joshua needs to catch Usyk early on, he'll lose otherwise. Well, if the fight is close, Joshua will win on cards. Yet I'm sure Usyk can do it enough wide.

good realistic outcome for uzzy is that he wins a few rounds and lasts the distance

I'd imagine he'd go for weight here wouldn't he, 250 ?
Did you notice Usyk pitty pat boxing had little of an effect on Chisora ?
How does Usyk plan on winning a boxing match if it comes down to it?
looking more high 230s low 240s. but iv given up on guessing weights of photos...
Sounds a little low.
More weight is an insurance policy much like body shots are in a bout.
Think he will try box long, and wants to be able to do so without gassing. 250lb AJ burns about 1000 calories throwing a 1-2... needs to be lighter if he wants to move around.

going into the fight i think he had to pick between 250s and just blast to try stop it in 6. or light and try box long. he apears to have gone the latter.

Extra power is insurance.
We'll see.

Completely different fighters. Povetkin went forward in a kill-or-be-killed fashion. He was trying to hurt Joshua and leaving openings for counters. Usyk has never done anything like that.

This is going to be a straightforward win for AJ. Usyk might make it somewhat uneventful like the Parker fight and possibly last the distance, but Usyk really isn’t the master boxer he’s portrayed as who is going to befuddle AJ.

I reckon Joshua’s shots eventually catch up with Usyk and the Ukrainian is stopped around 9 or 10.

AJ is as fake as they get. Losing to Mr Weightwatchers by ko. What would be really good about a Usyk win is that it would spare us the AJ vs Fury mismatch.

According to bet365, Anthony Joshua is 75% certain of defeating Oleksandr Usyk (1/3), with the Ukrainian underdog rated by SBK as having a 28.6% chance of victory (5/2).

The betting odds that I’ve quoted for the Joshua-Usyk fight are pretty consistent for 25 bookmakers (as per the stats supplied by oddschecker).

Even though I’m personally favouring Joshua to defeat Usyk by points, I feel that the betting odds are unrealistic to the point I’m sorely tempted to place a small bet on the underdog.

It’s not a coin toss 50-50 type fight, but Usyk doesn’t deserve to be considered such a big underdog.

I don’t think anyone would be particularly shocked to see him score the upset.

I would agree I also think Joshua will win but Usyk has a very live chance.

When are the judges announced?

Surely we won't have Steve Gray or IJL in a fight of this magnitude. I'd hope Team Usyk won't allow it and the alphabet bodies would have their own guys.

If it went to points would Usyk get a decision

Exactly.

Just how is Usyk supposed to win a close fight when Joshua is the A side?

It's also difficult to see Usyk stopping Joshua, but not difficult the other way around.

If you believe that Joshua is a better heavyweight than Bellew, as I do, then again it's difficult to see how Usyk wins.

So maybe Usyk's best chance is to outpoint Joshua but that's not easy to forsee either.

Certainly not for the bookmakers or their clients as you can bet anything that Joshua has been sparring with some elusive southpaws.

The thing is, this is a heavyweight battle between two great champions, therefore no result can be counted out.

There's also going to be some highly regarded trainers in the opposite corners come Saturday night.

It would be seriously interesting to hear either Rob McCracken's or Anatoly Lomachenko's take on this epic matchup

usyk probably has to win 9 rounds to win it on points... thats going to be tough. For that reason iv had a little bet on usyk by stopage at 8-1. I cant torture myself by relying on fair judging to win a bet.

Rate this bet. bit of everything, yet possible to win it all at once, this is exactly what i did (different amounts but same bets)in the wonderfull joyce vs DDD fight where the bookies appeared to be asleep at the wheel.

I did that too in Joyce vs DDD fight and won :TU: However, the odds weren't that good as they're now, not too surprising as I think that Joyce was a clear favourite, can't 100% say that about Usyk right now, but anyway imo Usyk's soooo underrated. But maybe I'm biased cuz I've seen Usyk live vs Głowacki and I was so impressed that I'm his big fan since then.
