European musings

Is it eleven russians in the finals-quite extraordinary.Alexey and Korobov look awesome,if not unbeatable. From a british point of view, well done to Smitthy and Frankie,a great medal for Stephen.A couple of things though,if Amir had stayed amateur would his power and hand speed have proved enough to beat Alexey or as I suspect would his defensive frailties have cost him at this time, and why do these great russians not dominate professional boxing.

Amir Khan was in Plovdiv and told me that he thinks that judging was very bad. There were a lot of bad decisions there. Russians were superior, but didn't celebrate at the night, because of Romanchuk loss:) One of the most unexpecatble

What happened? Was it just one punch or did Romanchuk take a beating?
Was the bad judging in favor of the russians? Which fights were bad decisions?

Please remember that Amir Khan is not a trained judge and, probably, only saw the bouts from one point of view. Did any of the other teams protest any of the decisions?
